Colts at Cardinals odds, prediction, and preview

Mandatory Credit: Phil Sears-USA AT THIS TIME Sports

The Indianapolis Colts (7-3) tackle the Arizona Cardinals (6-4) this Sunday in Phoenix, AZ. Arizona is four-1 at residence and Indianapolis is four-1 on the road. The Cardinals are riding a 3 sport profitable streak, however the groups they have crushed throughout the streak have combined for 5 wins on the season. The Colts are their hardest opponent in over a month.

The Colts have a great file at 7-3, however their last three video games have been rocky. In week 9, the Colts needed a fifteen level fourth quarter to beat the struggling Houston Texans. In week ten, the Colts had their worst sport of the season with Andrew Luck throwing three interceptions in a 38-8 loss at home to the St. Louis Rams. Last week, the Colts bought again on track with a 30-27 win in opposition to the Tennessee Titans. It was a superb bounce again win, but a sample of first half deficits appears to be forming.

A obvious statistical difference between the 2 teams is their speeding defenses. The Cardinals are second in the league, limiting opponents to 81.4 yards per sport while the Colts are 28th , allowing 126.1 yards per recreation. Indianapolis’ dashing protection is probably not exploited by Arizona as a result of the Cardinals have the 25th ranked rushing assault at 85.6 yards per sport.

I believe predicting a winner in this recreation comes right down to the x-issue. Colts QB Andrew Luck is the x-factor. His leadership and overall talent level make up for being on the highway in opposition to a good staff. Not having WR Reggie Wayne will make it a close recreation, but the Colts will pull it out in the long run. Colts win 24-21.

Terrelle Pryor could back up Matt McGloin in Week 12

Nov three, 2013; Oakland, CA, USA; Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor (2) scrambles out of the pocket throughout the first quarter towards the Philadelphia Eagles at O.co Coliseum. Necessary Credit score: Ed Szczepanski-USA IMMEDIATELY Sports

On Wednesday afternoon, Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen announced that undrafted free agent Matt McGloin can be getting the beginning in Week 12 over Terrelle Pryor, who missed last week’s game towards the Houston Texans with a Grade 2 sprain of his MCL.

That led many to believe that Pryor was not but healthy enough to take the field on Sunday, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Because it seems, Pryor could be wholesome sufficient to play in the recreation, but when he clothes it will likely be because the back up for the crew’s rookie quarterback.

McGloin performed properly last weekend and showed the world why the Raiders teaching staff has been excited about McGloin since training camp, so Pryor should begin worrying about the safety of his job.

Based on head coach Allen, McGloin might be the staff’s starter shifting forward if he places together another spectacular week.

“It is a production business,” Allen said, through CSN Bay Space. “One of many things we’ve tried to create here is an environment of competitors. For those who go out and also you perform and also you make plays, you get opportunities to continue to exit and perform and make plays. Matt did that final week. He’s going to get another opportunity this week. We’ll see how it goes.”

If McGloin can do effectively against the Tennessee Titans, then he deserves the job.

Pryor has been terribly inconsistent this season, which led many to wonder whether or not he was the quarterback of the future for the team, so his damage came at the improper time as a hungry younger signal-caller seems poised to make the most of the opportunity.

Last night’s Monday night game brought to an end of another exciting week in football in which some teams improved their Power Rankings and others continued to fall as quarterback injuries have taken their toll. Week 11 also brought the end of the NFL’s only unbeaten team when Kansas City fell to the Broncos.

Here is this week’s Week 12 Power Rankings for teams 1-32 with records and last week’s ranking.

Place your bets here upto $1000 signup bonus

1 Denver Broncos (9-1 LW: 2)- Round 1 goes to the Broncos… rematch with KC in two weeks.

2 Seattle Seahawks (10-1 LW: 3) Other then a home game against the Saints, they should be able to run the table the rest of the way.

3 New Orleans Saints (8-2 LW: 4)- Undefeated at home so far… but the playoffs may mean winning on the road.

4 Carolina Panthers (7-3 LW: 6)- Beating quality teams now and only getting better.

5 Kansas City Chiefs (9-1 LW: 1)- Still a solid team on defense… but the offense will need to get better if they expect to make some noise in the playoffs.

6 New England Patriots (7-3 LW: 5)- Patriots are still looking for the flag… they got earlier in the year against the Saints. So…

7 Indianapolis Colts (7-3 LW: 7)- Good comeback win at Tennessee, but I still think Rams game.

8 San Francisco 49ers (6-4 LW: 8)- They were so close to being 8-2…. Two tough games in a row.

9 Cincinnati Bengals (7-4 LW: 10)- Their win on Sunday should put them in position for the AFC North crown and a first-round bye.

10 Detroit Lions (6-4 LW 9)- Can we do the fake field goal play over again?

11 Chicago Bears (6-4 LW: 12)- Big home win over the Ravens.. which Rams team will they face on Sunday?

12 Philadelphia Eagles (6-4 LW: 13)- Finally a team in the NFC East is playing like they want to win it.. Nick Foles getting it done.

13 New York Jets (5-5 LW: 13)- Jekyll and Hyde if you ask me… we just don’t know what team will show up on Sundays.

14 Arizona Cardinals (6-4 LW: 16)- Winning games despite no running game and a QB who’s thrown more INTs then TDs.

15 Miami Dolphins (5-5 LW: 21)- Gritty performance and win against San Diego with all the distractions staring at them.

16 San Diego Chargers (4-6 LW: 17)- If they could just finish games… but now they still have three games left against the Chiefs and Broncos.

17 Dallas Cowboys (5-5 LW: 15)- Big game against the resurgent Giants Sunday on the road.

18 Green Bay Packers (5-5 LW: 14)- No Aaron Rodgers…. No hope!

19 Pittsburgh Steelers (4-6 LW: 25)- Is this the same Steelers team who we all left for dead earlier? Held the Lions scoreless in the second half.

20 Cleveland Browns (4-6 LW: 18)- Big home game on Sunday against the Steelers. If they win… maybe still a chance?

21 Buffalo Bills (4-7 LW: 27)- Winnable games coming up against the Bucs, Falcons, Jags and Dolphins… Wildcard? hmmm maybe.

22 Baltimore Ravens (4-6 LW: 19)- Failing to score on first-and-goal at the Chicago 5-yard line. Story of the year for the offense.

23 St Louis Rams (4-6 LW 20)- In a division with Seattle and San Francisco… it’s tough.

24 New York Giants (4-6 LW: 26)- Four wins in a row now with Dallas coming up.

25 Oakland Raiders (4-6 LW: 24)- Is Matt McGloin the answer at quarterback?

26 Tennessee Titans (4-6 LW: 22)- How big do the losses to the Jags and Colts look now in an AFC race that’s up for grabs.

27 Washington Redskins (3-7 LW: 23)- So much for running the tables like last year.

28 Houston Texans (2-8 LW: 28)- Still playing hard… that’s all you could ask for at this point.

29 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-8 LW: 31) Two in a row… and they had some winnable games throughout the season.

30. Atlanta Falcons (2-8 LW: 29)- Unlike the Texans, this is a football that has quit on everybody. Embarrassing!

31 Minnesota Vikings (2-8 LW: 30)- Playing for a quarterback in next year’s draft.

32 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-9 LW 32)- It was fun while it lasted.

Colts erase early deficit, rally past Titans

Colts Escape With A Win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Indianapolis Colts maintain digging themselves into early holes – and proving they know easy methods to come back and win.

Donald Brown ran for two touchdowns, Andrew Luck added another and the Colts rallied yet again, this time beating the Tennessee Titans 30-27 on Thursday evening.

The Colts (7-three) trailed 14-zero in the first quarter and have been outscored 35-zero in the first quarter in their previous three games – two of them victories. Additionally they have trailed in six games after the first quarter this season.

“At the finish of the day, successful is what matters,” Luck stated. “We were fortunate in this sport to outlive our errors and have a chance to win… But we all know that is acquired to be mounted.”

Adam Vinatieri kicked three discipline objectives, together with a 50-yarder, and Coby Fleener had a career-excessive eight catches for 107 yards to assist the Colts bounce back fairly properly from a 38-eight dwelling loss to St. Louis. They have yet to lose again-to-again video games underneath coach Chuck Pagano and are eight-zero coming off a loss.

“Clearly, beginning out like that’s one thing we’re all too conversant in,” Fleener mentioned. “That’s something we now have to work (on) and get corrected.”

“We have got to seek out that successful formula, no matter it’s,” Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick stated. “We have to find a approach to pull these games out at the finish. It’s a powerful locker room in there right now. That’s two in a row that type of slipped away from us. Two massive ones, two expensive ones for us.”

Fitzpatrick drove the Titans eighty yards in four performs, capping the drive with a 19-yard TD pass to Delanie Walker with 1:54 left. But the Titans, identical to they did in becoming the primary group to lose to Jacksonville this season on Sunday, couldn’t execute an onside kick with the ball protecting not even 10 yards earlier than Colts linebacker Pat Angerer lined it up.

That was the Colts’ fourth drive of 11 plays or more, and Brown praised the maligned offensive line for a phenomenal job. So did Pagano, who mentioned the linemen took it personally.

“They’d a degree to prove,” Pagano mentioned.

Luck completed 23-of-36 for 232 yards passing.

The Titans got here out with the start they only want they’d Sunday, once they lost to Jacksonville 29-27. Fitzpatrick didn’t flip the ball over as soon as in changing Jake Locker, who is out for the rest of the season with a Lisfrac injury to his proper foot.

The Titans were up 17-6 at halftime and appeared to be in control because the Colts had a mini-meltdown with three personal fouls, together with linebacker Erik Walden head-butting Walker after ripping the helmet off the Titans tight end.

The Colts gained their fourth straight and for the ninth time in 10 video games over their divisional rival, with Vinatieri’s 30-yard subject objective as the primary half expired helping settle the Colts down. That was the first of 20 straight points, as they dominated within the third quarter, holding the ball for greater than 11 minutes in taking a 23-17 lead.

They opened the third quarter with an 11-play drive throughout which Luck accomplished all 5 of his passes for forty two yards, together with two on third down. Brown capped the drive with a 7-yard TD.

Then Devon Wylie, signed to the roster Tuesday for an injured Damian Williams at returner, bumped into teammate Craig Stevens and fumbled on the kickoff for Tennessee. Daniel Herron recovered for the Colts on the Titans’ 20, and Luck scrambled for an 11-yard TD two plays later.

It was yet another particular teams gaffe this season by the Titans.

“For whatever motive, we just can’t maintain on to the soccer,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “One other seven-level play really.”

The Colts pressured Tennessee to a three-and-out, and the Titans lastly held in forcing Indianapolis to a subject goal. Vinatieri kicked his third of the night, a 50-yarder that went just over the crossbar. That capped 17 unanswered points within the third quarter as Luck related on his first eight passes and was 9-of-11 for seventy one yards in the quarter.

NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Game Recap- Colts Rally Back To Beat Titans

colts

Indianapolis Colts (7-3)- 30

Tennessee Titans (4-6)- 27

Line: IND -3.0

Over/Under: 42.5

The Indianapolis Colts rallied from an early 14-point deficit on Thursday night to beat the Tennessee Titans 30-27 and stay in control of the AFC South.

The Colts (7-3) had their problems once again the first quarter, where in their past three ballgames have been outscored 35-0—two of them victories. They have also trailed in six games after the first quarter this season.

It was a nice comeback and good bounce-back game from last week’s embarrassing home loss to the St. Louis Rams 38-8.

At the end of the day winning is what matters,” Cots QB Andrew Luck said. “We were fortunate in this game to survive our mistakes and have a chance to win… But we know that’s got to be fixed.”

The Colts are 8-0 coming off a loss and have yet to lose back-to-back games under coach Chuck Pagano.

Obviously, starting out like that is something we’re all too familiar with,” Coby Fleener (eight catches for 107 yards) said. “That’s something we have to work and get corrected.”

The good news is Indianapolis has beaten all three of their AFC South divisional opponents on the road.

We’re not worried about that yet,” Luck said. ‘We’re worried about this next game.”

After the first quarter slow start, the Colts rebounded and out-gained the Titans the rest of the way 366-340 and ended up 32:23 with time of possession to 27:37 for the Titans (4-6) who have now dropped two straight and five in six games.

We’ve got to find that winning formula, whatever it is,” Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said. “We have to find a way to pull these games out at the end. It’s a tough locker room in there right now. That’s two in a row that kind of slipped away from us. Two big ones, two costly ones for us.”

The Titans lost 29-27 last Sunday to the winless Jacksonville Jaguars and in the process lost Jake Locker with a Lisfrac injury to his right foot.

The only turnover for the game occurred when the Titans special teams fumbled on the kickoff which led to an Indianapolis touchdown two plays later.

For whatever reason, we just can’t hold on to the football,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “Another seven-point play really.”

Indianapolis put the game away with an 11-play drive that ended with Donald Brown (two touchdowns) running it in from 11-yards out for a touchdown. The Colts finished with 137 yards rushing and with the win improved to 4-1 on the season.

The return of the Colts running game came as a welcomed relieve where they have struggled in that offensive department.

They had a point to prove,” Pagano said regarding the Colts offensive linemen.

The Titans quickly struck back with a touchdown going 80 yards in four plays with 1:54 left, but they failed to execute on the onside kick when the ball did not travel the required 10 yards. Game over.

Luck finished 23 of 36 for 232 yards passing as the Colts won their fourth straight and for the ninth time in 10 games over their divisional rival Tennessee Titans.

Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinatieri added three field goals on the night including a 50-yarder.

Wonder Punter NFL Week 11 Power Rankings

NFL-Power-Rankings

NFL Power rankings for week 11 2013

With a 10 full weeks of NFL games in the books, let’s take a look at our new NFL Power Rankings for Week 11 which will begin on Thursday. The Indianapolis Colts who were a constant top 5 teams in our rankings took a hit with their bad loss at the hands of the Rams, as did some other teams after Sunday and Monday night’s game. The Carolina Panthers made the biggest jump with their impressive defensive performances win at San Francisco. And Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are in the win column… finally.

1 Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)- Even with the bye week, I will keep them in No. 1 spot, however they will be challenged in the next two of three weeks with the Denver Broncos on the bill.

2 Denver Broncos (8-1)- Denver’s next three games…. KC, at New England, at KC. Things are about to get interesting in the AFC.

3 Seattle Seahawks (9-1)- Seattle put together a full road game against the Falcons on Sunday and dominated them. Much more impressive win.

4 New Orleans Saints (7-2)- World beaters at home… except in the NFL you only get to play half at home during the regular season.

5 New England Patriots (7-2)- Coming off their bye week, they will have a great road test at Carolina on Monday night.

6 Carolina Panthers (6-3)- One quality victory down with a road win at San Fran., can they duplicate another at home against the Patriots on Monday night?

7 Indianapolis Colts (6-3)- I don’t think anyone is sure what happened to them on Sunday’s ugly home loss to the Rams…. They couldn’t have been looking ahead to the Titans, could they have?

8 San Francisco (6-3)- A bounce here, a bounce there, who knows… but teams 6 and 7 beat them at Candlestick.

9 Detroit Lions (6-3)- Big road win at Soldier Field to take over sole possession over first place in the NFC North.

10 Cincinnati Bengals (6-4)- Back-to-back road losses at Miami then Baltimore.. lose to Cleveland on Sunday and they may have a problem.

11 New York Jets (5-4)- Coming off their bye week with winnable game at Buffalo on Sunday.

12 Chicago Bears (5-4)- Can Josh McCown hold it together ‘til Cutler makes it back… whenever that is.

13 Philadelphia Eagles (5-5)- Nick Foles has had two great back-to-back games. My favorites now to win a weak NFC East.

14 Green Bay Packers (5-4)- Despite their quarterback injuries, they have a winnable game at the Giants on Sunday.

15 Dallas Cowboys (5-5)- In what was probably their ‘rock bottom’ game on Sunday, they are still in first place in the NFC.. but barely.

16 Arizona Cardinals (5-4)- Too bad they have play in the same division as the Seahawks and 49ers.

17 San Diego Chargers (4-5)- Too bad they have to play in same division as the Chiefs and Broncos.

18 Cleveland Browns (4-5)- Win at Cincinnati on Sunday and they may have a chance to win what is now a weak AFC North.

19 Baltimore Ravens (4-5)- It’s a good thing the defense showed up on Sunday against the Bengals because the offense was nowhere to be found.

20 St. Louis Rams (4-6)- The Tavon Austin show and a blowout win at Indy.

21 Miami Dolphins (4-5)- In week one following the bullying-blowup, they lose to the winless Bucs.

22 Tennessee Titans (4-5)- First they lose Jake Locker for the year, then they lose to the worst team in the league.

23 Washington Redskins (3-6)- In a weak NFC East, they show no signs of wanting it.

24 Oakland Raiders (3-6)- Have now lost 12 straight on East Coast trips and now word Terrelle Pryor may be out for awhile.

25 Pittsburgh Steelers (3-6)- What’s all this talk about trading away ‘Big Ben?’ Will that make them better… and will anybody take a banged-up quarterback?

26 New York Giants (3-6)- Must I keep talking about the NFC East anymore… they’re still in it but have some tough games coming up.

27 Buffalo Bills (3-7)- It’s all about building a foundation for 2014.

28 Houston Texans (2-7)- Still better then their record indicates.

29. Atlanta Falcons (2-7)- I used to think they were better then their record indicated.

30 Minnesota Vikings (2-7)- With Christian Ponder’s status up in the air for Sunday’s game, will we see another quarterback change for the Vikings?

31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-8)- Guess they didn’t want to be ranked last in the league.

32 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8)- Well for about 32 hours they were ranked 31st….

NFL Prediction Week 11 Thursday Night Preview & free Pick- Colts vs. Titans

colts2

NFL Free Pick for the Colts vs Titans game

Indianapolis Colts (6-3) @ Tennessee Titans (4-5) 11/14- 8:25PM EST

Line: IND -3.0

Over/Under: 42.0

Two football teams coming off bad losses this past Sunday will be looking to get back on track this Thursday night in an AFC South showdown, but the bigger challenge may be for the Tennessee Titans who lost quarterback Jake Locker for the season and will rely on backup Ryan Fitzpatrick to keep them from losing four straight.

Jake Locker was lost for the season when he injured his right foot in the second quarter of a 29-27 loss to previously winless Jacksonville Jaguars. Locker, who has been limited to 18 career starts, could need surgery.

Fitzpatrick will now try to get the Titans (4-5) back to winning after what seemed like a promising start to the season before losing Jake Locker to a previous injury as the Titans sit two games behind the division leading Colts (6-3) in the AFC South.

We’re just concentrating on these seven weeks,” coach Mike Munchack said. “That’s all we’re concerned about. Next year is next year (with Locker). Right now we just got to go forward and try to win a game.”

The Titans have dropped eight of nine to the Colts and will have to face them twice in three weeks. Their last win was Oct. 30, 2011.

Unfortunately for the Titans, Fitzpatrick went 0-2 as a starter for the injured Locker by losing to Kansas City and Seattle completing 54.3 percent of his passes with a touchdown and four interceptions. In relief for Locker on Sunday, he performed much better going 22 of 33 for 264 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions and ran for a touchdown as well, in the loss.

When it’s your turn to step up, you’ve got to step up, and that’s where we’re at,” said tight end Delanie Walker.

He’s going to be the starting quarterback from now on because Jake is out for the year, so Ryan has no choice but to play (well). I feel like he did a great job against the Jaguars. This is his opportunity to be the man now.”

With Fitzpatrick calling the signals now, he will need all the help he can get in the rushing game which will open it up for him… which means running back Chris Johnson will have to step up as well, where on Sunday’s loss he gained just 30 yards on 12 carries.

For the Indianapolis Colts, a blowout 38-8 loss to the Rams at home ruined every ones picks as Indianapolis committed a season-high five turnovers on Sunday’s ugly loss. Andrew Luck had three passes picked off to match the total for his first eight games combined and was sacked three more times.

I think all we want is to never play like that again,” tight end Colby Fleener said. “The feeling after that game was just disgust.”

If the Colts want to find success against the Titans, they too will have to improve upon their running game where all they were able to muster against the Rams was 18 yards.

Tennessee ranks 21st in the league against the run allowing 114.9 yards per game.

We realize how important the important the run game is to our success,” Luck said. “We’ll improve, and we’re looking forward to the Titans.”

Despite the Colt’s woes from Sunday’s game, they still go into Thursday’s match-up favored with a line spread of (minus) -3.0 as they look to bounce back in a big way, but be sure to check the latest betting lines up until kickoff and place your bet.

Certainly we’re not going to going to bury our head in the sand on this past game,” Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. “We’ll address the issues like we always address them. We know there are things that need to be fixed and we’ll go to work on fixing those things.”

Expect the Colts to be a lot better on both sides of the ball on Thursday and see them being able to cover as the pressure will be on Fitzpatrick to led the Titans the rest of the way.

NFL Power Rankings – Week 10

Power Rankings for the NFL week 10 – WonderPunter

With 9 weeks of the NFL season in the books, let’s take a look at Week 10’s Power Rankings where a few teams made some jumps and others went backwards after this past weekend’s games.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)- As much as I still think they are not deserving of the top ranking.. they are still the only undefeated team. Bye week then a showdown with the Denver Broncos.

2. Denver Broncos (7-1)- With the bye week out of the way, can they continue to play at a high-level without head coach John Fox on the mend for possibly two months for a heart attack? Chargers and Chiefs coming up.

3. Indianapolis Colts (6-2)- They have beaten some quality teams to this point, but remember no more Reggie Wayne to help the offense.

4. Seattle Seahawks (8-1)- Expected better from a team that has struggled against the Rams and Bucs for victories.

5. San Francisco 49ers (6-2)- Big home game against the surging Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

6. New Orleans Saints (6-2)- Will look to bounce back against the Cowboys after Sundays loss to the Jets.

7. New England Patriots (7-2)- They head into the bye week after an impressive blowout win over the Steelers 55-31.

8. Cincinnati Bengals (6-3)- Can they avoid back-to-back road losses with the Ravens coming up?

9. Chicago Bears (5-3)- Big road win on Monday night in Lambeau gave them a big move up the rankings. Next up Detroit and possibly Jay Cutler returning to action.

10. Detroit Lions (5-3)- Coming off their bye week with a road game at Soldier Field.

11. Carolina Panthers (5-3)- All their wins have been against bad teams, now they visit the Niners on Sunday to prove their worth.

12. Green Bay Packers (5-3)- Dropped from last week and now with Aaron Rodgers out of action, they may continue to fall.

13. Dallas Cowboys (5-4)- Still middle of the road for me but they are in first place in a weak NFC East. Will be tested against the Saints on Sunday night.

14. New York Jets (5-4)- Good home win against a good Saints team leading into the bye week.

15. San Diego Chargers (4-4)- Another fourth quarter loss last week, now next up is the Denver Broncos.

16. Tennessee Titans (4-4)- I still like this football team and have the hapless Jags coming into town.

17. Miami Dolphins (4-4)- Can they overcome all the bad press this week and beat a winless Bucs team on Monday night?

18. Cleveland Browns (4-5)- Is Jason Campbell the answer to Hoyle?

19. Arizona Cardinals (4-4)- Next up is the Texans as they look to go above .500, unfortunately they have the 49ers and Seahawks to contend with in their division.

20. Philadelphia Eagles (4-5)- Back-up quarterback Nick Foles completely embarrassed the Raiders with seven touchdown passes, yet Vick may still get his job back when healthy.

21. Baltimore Ravens (4-4)- Offense must improve if they want to contend.

22. Washington Redskins (3-5)- With Minnesota coming up Thursday night, now is the chance to string some wins together in the winnable NFC East.

23. Buffalo Bills (3-6)- Tough road loss to the unbeaten Chiefs, but still like the direction they are going.

24. Oakland Raiders (3-5)- Horrible defensive performance against the Eagles. Next up is the lowly Giants, but it’s always tough for west coast teams to head east and win.

25. Houston Texans (2-6)- Defense is still there and had the Colts beat, but losing their coach proved too tough to overcome.

26. Atlanta Falcons (2-6)- Season is over and people are wondering why future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez wasn’t traded to a team with a chance to win it all?

27. St. Louis Rams (3-6)- Playing with a back up QB and heading into Indianapolis on Sunday.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-6)- Was Sundays blowout loss to the Patriots 55-31 their rock bottom? The worst we’ve seen in years!

29. New York Giants (2-6)- They have a very beatable Oakland team coming into town on Sunday.

30. Minnesota Vikings (1-7)- I guess the Josh Freeman quarterback of our future experiment is over after one game.

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-8)- Gave Seattle all they could handle and showed some pride before falling in OT.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-8)- What hasn’t been said already? Next up at Tennessee.

Raiders to handle DC’s gestures ‘in-house’

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis might understand his defensive coordinator’s thought process, nevertheless it doesn’t mean he endorses what Jason Tarver was caught doing in his staff’s eventual 21-18 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. And Tarver himself issued a mea culpa for his actions.

Jason TarverRaiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver apologized Monday for his gestures directed towards officers in Sunday’s recreation.

Tarver flipped a middle finger, on separate events, at the officials after a private foul was known as on cornerback Mike Jenkins for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell with eight:forty eight left in the third quarter.

“It was simply an emotional outburst by a coach within the heat of the sport,” Davis informed ESPN.com. “We don’t condone those actions and we’ll deal with it in-house.”

Tarver, in the meantime, issued his apology in an announcement Monday afternoon.

“I apologize for my motion on the sideline of yesterday’s game,” Tarver mentioned within the release. “It was within the warmth of the second, and I regret drawing attention away from the Raiders gamers and what they achieved.”

The flag, by the best way, was picked up and no penalty was levied in spite of everything.

The Raiders, not the NFL, are anticipated to impose self-discipline on Tarver, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

In 2010, Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil was hit with a $40,000 fantastic for flipping off the refs when he disagreed with a penalty towards his staff.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen was requested in his weekly information convention about Tarver’s actions and apology.

“I do not know if it is a kind of stuff you just say, ‘Let’s forget about it,'” Allen stated.

“Pay attention, he’s made his assertion about what’s happened. I think the only factor I’ll say is I feel he is carried out an excellent job with this protection. I think he is a fiery and emotional man and I believe our gamers have actually taken to that, and I believe they’ve embraced that kind of perspective and he has the defense enjoying at a high stage proper now.”

NFL Thursday Night Game Preview/Pick- Seahawks vs. Cardinals

nfl picks

NFL Thursday Night Game Preview/Pick- Seahawks vs. Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks @ (5-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-3) 10/17 8:25PM EST

Line: -6.5

Over/Under- 40.0

The Seattle Seahawks (5-1) will go into Arizona on Thursday looking to avoid their third straight road loss to the Cardinals and stay even with the New Orleans Saints (5-1) for best road record in the NFC.

Road woes is what plagued the Seahawks last year and if they wish to stay among the NFL’s elite, they must improve in that area starting with their division rival Arizona Cardinals (3-3) who are coming off a loss in San Francisco 32-20.

Seattle won unimpressively against the Tennessee Titans at home last Sunday 20-13 and must do a better job offensively against a Cardinal football team still trying to find their way.

Seattle receiver Percy Harvin will help the Seahawk offense be more effective once he returns from injured reserve and can get back in football shape, but is still a few weeks away from that happening.

He’ll be running and doing a lot of stuff this week,” Carroll said. “We don’t expect him to play this week, but we’ll find out how far along he has come.”

The Seattle defense is still getting it done as they rank second in the NFL with 290.2 yards allowed per game and third at 15.7 points a contest.

It’s nice to learn while you are winning and I think that’s where we are,” coach Pete Carroll said. “That’s what we’re hoping to continue. I don’t know if we’ll be able to reach the levels that we saw last year where we were scoring points at a huge rate (while winning the final five regular-season games). That was an enormous run that we had. But that’s good to expect that and I’d like to see that too.”

The Cardinals are 2-0 at home thus far and have beaten the Seahawks six of the last seven.

They’re a brand new team to us,” Carroll said. “There are things that look similar, but it’s not the same. All kinds of stuff has changed, so we to look at them all over again. It’s not like we’re just carrying it over, same ol’ same ol’. It’s not like that.”

Carson Palmer must look to improve throwing the ball where he has thrown nine of his 11 interceptions in the last four games, and may be without All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald who is nursing a sore hamstring.

It gets a little better and then he plays on it and it gets worse,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “So hopefully we can continue to nurse it into the small open week and get it better.”

All signs point to the Seattle Seahawks winning on Thursday.. stronger defense and more consistent offense, although the Cardinals have played better at home, I expect the Seahawks to win going away in the fourth quarter.

So for Thursday night´s  NFL Pick

PICK: Seattle Seahawks

1. Denver Broncos (6-0)- Peyton Manning returns to Indianapolis for a Sunday night match-up. Emotions will be high.

2. New Orleans Saints (5-1)- Last second loss to the Patriots hurt, but still think they are the team to beat in the NFC.

3. Seattle Seahawks (5-1)- Solid football team, jury is still out for me on quality road wins.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (6-0)- Solid defense and easy schedule coming up before their showdown with Denver in a few weeks.

5. New England Patriots (5-1)- Can only get better once Gronkowski gets back to playing.

6. Green Bay Packers (3-2)- Tough win at Baltimore.. still see them as the team to beat in the NFC North.

7. San Francisco 49ers (4-2)- Took a step back against their home win versus Arizona. Not impressive.

8. Indianapolis Colts (4-2)- Took a step back with loss Monday night at San Diego. Denver in town on Sunday.

9. Cincinnati Bengals (4-2)- Have they turned a corner? They have won four out of their last five games.

10. Detroit Lions (4-2)- Good road win at Cleveland. Up next Cincinnati.

11. Chicago Bears (4-2)- Expected more from their home win against a bad Giants team.

12. Dallas Cowboys (3-3)- Still a mediocre team to me but should win the weak NFC East.

13. Baltimore Ravens (3-3)- Will the defending Super Bowl champs make a move sometime this year?

14. San Diego Chargers (3-3)- Good things happen when you play a full 60 minutes of football.

15. Miami Dolphins (3-2)- Can they rebound with some conference opponents coming up?

16. Tennessee Titans (3-3)- With a healthy Jake Locker.. could easily be a Top 10 team.

17. Cleveland Browns (3-3)- Brandon Weeden is not the answer.. next up at Green Bay.

18. Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)- No Michael Vick in Chip Kelly’s offense… no problem.

19. Carolina Panthers (2-3)- St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Atlanta coming up…

20. New York Jets (3-3)- Will the real Geno Smith.. please stand up! Patriots up next.

21. Arizona Cardinals (3-3)- Played tough at San Francisco or did the 49ers play down to them?

22. St. Louis Cardinals (3-3)- Don’t know yet… I can’t figure them out.

23. Atlanta Falcons (1-4)- Red Zone, Red Zone, Red Zone

24. Buffalo Bills (2-4)- They’re close to making it work. I like the direction they’re heading in for the future.

25. Houston Texans (2-4)- Got punished at home to a bad Rams team.. did they finally hit rock bottom?

26. Oakland Raiders (2-4)- Terrelle Pryor was sacked 10 times last week by the Chiefs! Really?!!

27. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4)- Create some turnovers, get a win. So that’s the secret to winning games.

28. Washington Redskins (1-4)- This is same team that won the NFC East last year?

29. Minnesota Vikings (1-4)- Quarterback woes continues… time to cash it in.

30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5)- Only because they have one less loss then the Giants.

31. New York Giants (0-6)- No coach, it’s ok… put the blame on Manning.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-6)- Played their best game of the year against the Broncos. Only consolation is that Denver did not cover the spread.

Until next weeks Power Rankings… Good Luck!

NFL Monday Night Game Recap- Chargers Stop Colts

San Diego Chargers v Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Monday Night Game Recap- Chargers Stop Colts

The San Diego Chargers put together a full 60 minutes of football on Monday night and silenced the critics… and the Colt offense for a 19-9 victory in San Diego.

An uncharacterized Indianapolis Colts team looked anything but like the Colts with a lot of dropped passes and lack of offense, who as a team may have been looking ahead to Sundays showdown with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

I wasn’t sure who the Colts were playing this week (from) all the ads I saw,” Chargers quarterback David Rivers said, in response to all the hype surrounding the Colts (4-2) not the Chargers (3-3).

The Charger defense stepped up and kept the Indianapolis offense from scoring a touchdown.. and most importantly, any type of Andrew Luck comeback.

The Colts were only able to muster three Adam Vinatieri field goals.

David Rivers lead a balanced attack for the Chargers (227 passing, 147 rushing), controlled over 38-minutes of the play clock and committed no turnovers.

We knew if we didn’t turn the ball over and we sustained drives, which we did… we had some 12, 14, 16-play drives… that we’d give ourselves a chance to win,” Rivers said.

We didn’t go into the game saying, ‘Let’s play ball control,” Rivers added. “We wanted to score as many points as we could. We didn’t score that many, but we did sustain drives.”

Between dropped balls and lack of third down conversions, the Colts could just not sustain any drives to give them a chance to win.

We stunk on third down today,” Luck said. “A lot of credit to their defense. I think we made our fair share of mistakes, but I think it’s what they did. If we can’t convert third downs and drives continually stall like that, it’s a short rest for our defense and no points for us, so it’s a bad combination.”

With the Colts losing, they now only maintain a one game lead over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South and have the 6-0 Denver Broncos rolling into town for a Sunday night showdown.
