NCAA Prediction Bowl Game Preview/Pick- Michigan vs. Kansas State

wolverines

Michigan Wolverines (7-5) vs. Kansas State Wildcats (7-5) 12/28- 10:15PM EST

BUFFALO WINGS BOWL- Tempe, AZ

Line: KSU -5.0

Over/Under: 55.5

The Kansas State Wildcats, winners of five of their final six games and feeling confident, head into Tempe on Saturday night in search of their first bowl game victory since 2002 as they take on a Michigan team that has struggled down the stretch and will be without their starting quarterback.

The Wildcats (7-5) have been a successful program under coach Bill Snyder, but haven’t tasted a bowl win in five postseason games since beating Arizona State in the 2002 Holiday Bowl.

It is obvious that one of my many failings is that I do not have to answer to that,” the 74-year old Bill Snyder said. “It could be a multitude of things, and perhaps it is, or maybe it’s something simple that I am overlooking. …. The bottom line is I really do not know.”

Kansas State was eluded victories in its last two major bowl games in the 2011 Cotton Bowl and 2012 Fiesta Bowl, but like their chances this year in the Buffalo Wings Bowl with a Wolverines team without their star quarterback.

After a 2-4 start, the Wildcats went on a 5-1 run to put themselves in a great bowl game after Big 12 foes Baylor and Oklahoma wound up in BCS bowls this year. They were headed for the Holiday Bowl, but Saturday’s bowl game is a step up and they plan to take full advantage of it.

Nobody on our team has won a bowl game, with the exception of the coaches,” junior linebacker Jonathan Truman said. “We need it. We want it really bad.”

Michigan (7-5) started out 5-0, but lost four of five to finish the season with four of those losses by four points or fewer, with its last loss at the heals of their biggest rival Ohio State 42-41 back on November 30th.

It was that game that knocked Devin Gardner out of Saturday’s contest with a turf toe injury, a big blow after their star threw for 451 yards and four touchdowns. It was that impressive showing that gave the Wolverines the nod over Nebraska, who had two more wins in the Big 10 than Michigan a spot in Saturday’s game.

With Gardner out, the spotlight will be on freshman quarterback Shane Morris to lead the Wolverines as he makes his first career start.

Obviously, we recruited him at Michigan to be the quarterback at Michigan,” coach Brady Hoke said. “This is a great opportunity. We have a lot of faith in how he goes about his business getting ready to play.”

With a Michigan running game that ranks 112th in the nation with a paltry 3.2 yards per carry, it will be vital for the young Morris to find success through the air to have a chance, so look for Morris to target Jeremy Gallon, who had 80 catches for 1,284 yards with nine touchdowns.

Kansas State will counter with Tyler Lockett who had 71 receptions for 1,146 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the Wildcats, who use a two-quarterback approach… junior Jake Walters averages 9.43 yards per attempt and sophomore Daniel Sams, who ran for 784 yards with 11 touchdowns.

I’ve never been a fan of having two guys at that position that play equally,” Snyder said. “But both of them are very deserving of having the opportunity to play.”

With Gardner out, the oddsmakers have made the Wildcats a (minus -5.0) point favorite on Saturday night, but as always, get the latest spread on the game(s) up until kickoff right here at Wonder Punter.

On defense, watch for Michigan cornerback Blake Countess tied for fourth in the nation with six interceptions and Kansas State defensive end Ryan Mueller who had 11 ½ sacks and a Big-12 leading 18 ½ tackles for loss.

It’s tough to go with a young quarterback without much game experience and without a solid running game for the Wolverines, I like and predict the Wildcats notching their first bowl win in over a decade.

NCAA Prediction Bowl Game Preview & Pick Cougars vs. Rams

Washington State v USC

NCAA Free Pick and Prediction Bowl Game

Washington State Cougars (6-6) vs. Colorado State Rams (7-6) 12/21- 2:00PM EST

Line: WASH ST: -4.5

Over/Under: 65

GILDAN NEW MEXICO BOWL- Albuquerque, NM

The Washington State Cougars and Colorado State Rams will kickoff the bowl season on Saturday with the Gildan New Mexico Bowl and both teams are excited about getting into a bowl game and turning their football programs around.

Colorado State coach Jim McElwain and Washington State coach Mike Leach, both in their second-year agree that the bowl matchup is a sign of things changing for both struggling programs, where the Rams (7-6) haven’t been to a bowl game since 2008 and for the Cougars (6-6), it’s been a decade since they tasted the postseason.

One of the accomplishments you want early is to get in a bowl game and be part of that club,” McElwain told reporters. “There’s a certain aura that comes with being a bowl team.”

McElwain was the offensive coordinator with Alabama during the Crimson Tide’s BCS national championships in 2009 and 2011, and knows the importance of a bowl appearance for a program when it comes to recruiting.

Coach Leach says his players are made up of largely of freshman and sophomores, but knows his seniors have been through “rough dry times” and haven’t had the opportunity to play in a bowl game. “They’ve never been in a bowl and (had) hoped they would,” Leach said. “Talking about it and actually doing it are two different things.”

Players to watch for the Rams will be running back Kapri Bibbs, who leads all of college football with 28 rushing touchdowns with 1,572 yards on the ground and quarterback Garrett Grayson, who ranks among the nation’s top 20 in passing yards (3,3270). The Rams set a school record with four games scoring 50 or more points and is the only school to have a 3,000 yard passer and 1,500 yard runner in a single season this year.

For the Cougars, they are led by junior quarterback Conner Halliday who operates the spread offense and is ranked fourth nationally in passing yards (4,187) and with 28 touchdowns, is tied for 13th.

Let’s not forget, this is this same Washington State Cougars that played the Auburn Tigers in their first game of the season in which they lost in a heartbreaker 31-24.

We should have won that game,” Leach said.

The Cougars like their chances going in on Saturday and feel they were battle tested all year having played four opponents that appear in the top 16 of the BCS standings and so do the oddsmakers who have made them the early (minus -4.5) point favorite. Get the latest spread on the game up until kickoff right here at Wonder Punter.

Expect both teams to showcase their high-powered offense come Saturday and McElwain says his defense will have to be ready.

I know they throw the heck out of it,” McElwain said. “I know (Leach) isn’t afraid to throw it and he’ll probably throw it coming off the bus.”

I too, like the battle tested Cougars and predict a high scoring affair with the Cougars taking home the trophy.

NCAA Prediction Week 14 College Football Game Preview/Pick- #3 Ohio State vs. Michigan

ohio-state-michigan-football

NCAA Free Pick and Prediction

#3 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0) @ Michigan Wolverines (7-4) 11/30- 12:00PM EST

Line: OSU -16.0

Over/Under: 57.0

This Saturday afternoon for the 110th time, No. 3 Ohio State and Michigan will get it on in Michigan’s “Big House,” in Ann Arbor and for players who are new to the rivalry…. This is what it’s all about… the best is saved for last.

Buckeyes’ defensive lineman Noah Spence was unaware just how big until he set foot on the Ohio State campus and got a taste of it.

It’s a huge rivalry even if you are a guy from out of state like me,” Spence said. “It’s everything.”

Stakes will be high for the Buckeyes (11-0, 7-0 Big Ten) ranked third in all the major polls and looking for No. 2 Florida State or No 1 Alabama to slip up and get into the BCS national championship game.

Ohio State, winners of a school record 23 straight has already earned a shot in the Big Ten championship, which is nice, but there’s another championship they are after… and the Wolverines would love nothing more then to stop them from earning a trip to Pasadena.

But this is a Michigan team that has been both sides of the spectrum this season, starting out 5-0 to begin the season and enjoying a No. 11 ranking suddenly hit a wall and have now lost three of their last four.

Scoring points of late as been an Achilles Heal of the Michigan offense. Last Saturday at Iowa, they were shutout in the second half of a 24-21 loss and in losses to Nebraska and Michigan State were held to 13 and 6 points.

Head coach Brady Hoke of the Wolverines (7-4, 3-4) says he’s confident his football team will turn it around at home against their biggest rival.

This game has always been different in some ways,” Hoke said. “Are they a good football team? Do we have to play better than we’ve played? I don’t think there’s any doubt.”

The Buckeyes have been on a roll lighting up the scoreboard in their last four games averaging 55.3 points and 597.0 yards, which has made them big favorites at a (minus) -16.0 on the road and with lines always changing, check back here at Wonder Punter for the up to minute spread until game time.

Ohio State has a powerful running game led by quarterback Braxton Miller and Carlos Hyde to the tune of 314.7 yards per game… good for fifth in the nation.

All the focus will be on Hyde, who over the last six games has been on fire averaging 8.1 yards per attempt… good for 938 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns to boot.

Miller is another threat having run for 144 yards last Saturday and the week before rushing for 184 at Illinois.

It’s just striving for the best,” Miller said. “We ended the season 12-0 last year and we weren’t able to play in a bowl game or the Big Ten championship game (because of NCAA sanctions). That’s what we are striving for. (We want to) accomplish that and keep going forward, keep winning games and just make Ohio State proud.”

For Michigan to give the Buckeyes a fight and have a chance to upset them, Wolverine quarterback Devin Gardner needs to regain his form and put up some good numbers. Against Indiana, he accounted for 584 yards of offense with 503 of it through the air back on Oct. 19. However, in the four games since, he has averaged only 182.5 yards passing.

For the season, Gardner has a passing percentage of 58.7 with 2,509 yards passing with 17 touchdowns, but with eleven interceptions. Michigan will need his arm because the running game is nowhere to be found in the month of November.

He’s had some really good moments and some moments that he would rather redo if he could,” Hoke said. “I think we all of have that; I do as a head coach. There are always moments that you think about and say, ‘Maybe we should’ve done this.’ He’s been pretty resilient. He’s a guy who comes to work every day to get ready to play.”

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer won his first rivalry game last year 26-21 avenging a Buckeyes loss the year before.

I have great respect for this rivalry—it almost makes me in awe,” Meyer said. “The respect we have come with incredible responsibility that sometimes can be overwhelming (when it comes) to what we have to do next week. So we take it very seriously.”

Ohio State has won eight out of the last nine meetings with the Wolverines, but despite their success, if they don’t win on Saturday against their most hated rivals… it means nothing.

This is the whole season, really,” safety C.J. Barnett said. “Everything is out the window, records, everything we’ve done, haven’t done—it’s all about this week.’

The Buckeyes defense goes in allowing only 18.4 points per game to compliment an offense averaging 48.7 points per game. Michigan is yielding 25.1 points per contest, while averaging 33.1 on the scoreboard.

And with that said, I see no let down from the Buckeyes on Saturday as they know they have a shot for something more then just a Big Ten title.

PICK: Ohio State

NCAA Prediction Week 12 College Football Game Preview & Pick- #25 Georgia vs. #7 Auburn

111213_icf_georgiaauburn_thumb_640x360_63239235997

NCAA Football Prediction Georgia Bulldogs vs Auburn tigers game

#25 Georgia Bulldogs (6-3) @ #7 Auburn Tigers (6-3) 11/16- 3:30PM EST

Line: AUB -3.0

Over/Under: 63.5

What a difference a year makes when in 2012, the now No. 7 Auburn Tigers went winless in the Southeastern Conference and in 2013 are looking to keep pace in the BCS standings as they get set to host a Georgia Bulldogs team that has beaten them the last two meetings by a combined score of 83-7.

Payback is definitely on the minds of the Tigers when then No. 5 Georgia went into Jordan-Hare Stadium and shutout Auburn 38-0.

This year, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 25 and looking for similar results.

From a personal standpoint, I have yet to beat Georgia,” junior defensive tackle Gabe Wright said. “There are a lot of guys who have yet to Georgia. Guys are more focused and locked in.”

It’s been all Georgia as of late where they have won six of seven in the series, except Auburn’s championship year of 2010.

This year’s Auburn’s team at 9-1 (5-1 SEC) is liking their chances once again now that they are back to winning after last year’s 3-9 mark.

The teachers’ attitudes are better. The bus drivers’ attitudes are better,” Wright said. “I guess what I am trying to get at is that everybody’s attitude is better. There’s not much bad that can come from winning. It’s a new day here. We’re blessed to be at this point. We just can’t wait for the next opportunity.”

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall played as a defensive back for Georgia in 2011 before transferring to a junior college and ending up at Auburn this year has their starting QB.

He’s familiar with them, there’s no doubt,” Tigers coach Gus Malzahn said. “But if he holds true to past experience this year, he doesn’t get too high or too low. Not much really rattles him. He stays pretty calm no matter what the moment.”

Marshall leads all SEC quarterbacks with 734 yards rushing while averaging just 17.7 passing attempts per game in Auburn’s zone-read offense.

Auburn has 33 rushing touchdowns this year so far… good for third in the country behind Oregon and Auburn and their 320.0 rushing yards per game is third best in the country.

For Georgia (6-2, 4-2 SEC), they were flirting with BCS championship talks earlier in the season but suffered some tough losses and lost some steam.

The Bulldogs are lead by Aaron Murray who is 174 of 275 for 2477 yards passing and 20 touchdowns but leading receiver Chris Conley (sprained ankle) and tight end Arthur Lynch (ribs) are questionable but Georgia coach Mark Richt believes they have a shot to play on Saturday.

Auburn’s powerful running game has made them the odds-on favorite going in with a slight (minus) -3.0 at home, but be sure to check the betting lines often here at Wonder Punter and secure your bet(s) before kickoff for free.

I too have the Tigers as my pick with what they bring in the running department and the Bulldogs better be ready.

It’s going to be hard to keep them from reducing the yardage on third down and having that run-pass threat on third down,” Richt said.

That’s the part of the reason why they’re so successful—they have very few third-and-long situations unless there’s a penalty. … It really doesn’t matter what we did in the past. It matters what we do Saturday, and hopefully we’ll get them on the ground.”

Expect another great SEC battle on Saturday afternoon.

PICK: Auburn Tigers

NCAA Prediction College Football Week 12 Game Preview/Pick

Free picks and prediction for week 12 of the NCAA college football games

Washington Huskies (6-3) @ #13 UCLA Bruins (7-2) 11/15- 9:00PM EST

Line: UCLA -2.5

Over/Under: 60.5

On Friday night in a prime-time showdown, No. 13 UCLA will try to keep their PAC 12 South title hopes alive, as well as stay in contention for a BCS major bowl bid as they take on the Washington Huskies at the Rose Bowl.

With Bruins starting running back Jordan James still hobbled by a nagging ankle injury that has kept him out three games already, we may get to see once again Bruins’ freshman linebacker Myles Jack line up in the UCLA backfield.

Jack (just 18 years old) was heavily recruited as a running back but wanted the chance to play linebacker for the Bruins and has become solid at his position on the defensive side of the ball.

Last Saturday night he finished with eight tackles—one for loss, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery, however it’s what he did when given the football that made heads turn.

UCLA coach Jim Mora in need of some offensive spark from the Bruins’ running back inserted Jack into the offensive scheme and he responded by running for 120 yards on just six carries.

Jack’s 66-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference in the Bruins 31-26 win over Arizona.

It worked, but there’s a saturation point, Mora said. “Everyone is going to want to see this and think it’s great, but what they forget is coaches are now prepared for it and they’re going to have an answer.”

Meaning of course, how many snaps Jack is involved with on Friday night is unclear.

It depends on the situation,” said Mora who’s Bruins team will be facing a Washington defense that has had no answer against the running game in their last four contests giving up an average of 209.5 yards rushing per game.

We’re not going to do something just to gimmick. Its got to have merit.” Mora also said.

If that wasn’t enough to worry about for the Huskies, they will also have to contend with way to slow down sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley who has bounced back in his last two games by completing 37 of 49 for 500 yards and four touchdowns. Against Oregon on October 26, he threw for a career-low 64 yards in their 42-14 loss.

The Bruins (7-2, 4-2 Pac 12) hope to continue their home dominance over the Huskies where they have won their last seven series meetings with them by an average of 13.9 points as they sit one game back of No. 21 Arizona State in the Pac 12 South for the division lead.

The two teams haven’t met since the Huskies’ 24-7 victory in Seattle since November 18, 2010.

Oddsmakers are expecting a close game making the Bruins a slight favorite (minus) -2.5 over the Huskies, but be sure to check the latest betting lines here at Wonder Punter up until game time.

The Huskies after a strong start to begin the season will bring a strong running game of their own powered by Bishop Sankey who is third in the nation with 145.0 yards per game.

Washington… once ranked in the top 25 lost three straight games to then No. 5 Stanford, No. 2 Oregon and Arizona State, but have won their last two over weaker California and Colorado.

Washington quarterback Keith Price will be seeking his third straight 300-yard game but will have to face a corps of Bruin linebackers regarded as one of the country’s best in the likes of…. Jack, Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks and Jordan Zumwalt.

It’ll be a good game,” said Mora. “It’ll be exciting. They’re a good football team and there’s a lot at stake. It’ll be a fun environment in the Rose Bowl.”

Washington coach Steve Sarkisian agrees… “It’s going to be a hard-fought ballgame. That’s a good football team at UCLA. It won’t be an easy environment to play in on Friday night.”

I also expect a great game between the two schools, but with they way the Bruins play at the Rose Bowl allowing only 16.5 points this season, I predict a Bruins win.

PICK: UCLA

NCAA College Football Pick – Georgia Tech vs. #8 Clemson

gerorgia-tech

NCAA Prediction College Football Week 12 Thursday Game Preview & Pick- Georgia Tech vs. #8 Clemson

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-3) @ Clemson Tigers (8-1) 11/14- 7:30PM EST

Line: CLEM -10.5

Over/Under: 57.5

On Thursday night, the No. 8 Clemson Tigers, coming off their bye-week will look to stay on track in the BCS race against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in another Atlantic Coast Conference match-up on prime-time here is my prediction and pick for this game.

The Clemson Tigers (8-1, 6-1 ACC) hope to pick up where they left off before their week off when they defeated Virginia in a rout 59-10 on Nov. 2nd and have won their last two since their week 8 loss to No. 2 Florida State.

The guys deserve all the credit because they have gotten themselves ready and found ways to win games,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said. “This is the most complete game that we had. This team will be judged based on how we finish, but we had a good start to November.”

Clemson wide-out Sammy Watkins has been on fire the last two games with 22 catches for 332 yards in the last two games making quarterback Tajh Boyd’s job look easy.

When you have a guy like him with space, he’s going to have an opportunity to make plays,” Boyd said of Watkins. “Sammy did an unbelievable job. You kind of just got to throw your arm up and he will have a chance to get the ball.”

Fully verified Winning betting system, since 1999  Vip picks

The combination of Boyd and Watkins has helped the Tigers average 39.8 points a game to rank 15th in the FBS and in their last two games have out-gained Maryland and Virginia 1,150-641 in total offense.

That’s what we plan on doing, keep finishing and staying healthy,” Watkins said. “We need to go out with a bang and have fun. This is what it is all about here in November. You got to show everyone that you’re a top 10 team now and not just in September.”

With the way the Tigers have been playing since their lone defeat to Florida State, Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson knows he will have his hands full with Clemson.

It’s certainly going to be a big challenge on Thursday night,” said Johnson. “Clemson is a tough place to play and they’ve got a lot of explosive athletes. .. We look at it as an opportunity to go in and measure ourselves as a team and see if we’ve made the progress we feel we’ve made in the past couple of weeks.”

The Tigers may be going in as the favorite with a (minus) -10.5 at home, but Georgia Tech has some offensive fire-power of their own with a bruising running game that averages 311.2 yards out of the triple option.

They also have a defense that allows only 103.4 rushing yards against… good for 10th in all of college football.

The Yellow Jackets (6-3, 5-2 ACC) with a win on Thursday can clinch at least a share of the Coastal Division title but it hasn’t been easy as Georgia Tech has followed a three-game losing streak with three straight wins, outscoring opponents 112-35 in that span.

We’re a team that’s fairly physical. We run the ball pretty good an defend the run pretty good,” Johnson said. “When we do the things that we do well and take care of the ball, we could be a tough out.”

Thursday night’s game will be well played, but the spread dictates the failures of Georgia Tech to beat a Top 25 team, where they have lost seven in a row and the Tigers have beaten unranked opponents 26 consecutive times at home by an average of 23.6 points.

It seems like a safe bet on Clemson come Thursday night, but feel free to check the latest lines here at Wonder Punter up until game time.

PICK: Clemson

NCAA Predictions College Football Preview/Pick- #18 Oklahoma St. vs. Texas Tech

olklahpma-vs-texas

NCAA Prediction & Free Pick Olkahoma vs. Texas Tech

#18 Oklahoma St. Cowboys (6-1) @ #15 Texas Tech Red Raiders (7-1)

11/2- 7:00PM EST

Line: TTU -2.5

Over/Under: 66.5

The No. 15th-ranked Red Raiders will look to rebound at home against Big 12 foe No. 18 Oklahoma St. with a heavy focus of holding on to the football after turnovers caught up with them last Saturday against the Sooners, who handed the Red Raiders their first loss of the season 38-30.

You cannot come into this stadium against this team with those coaches athletes and do that,” Red Raiders coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “… We knew coming in that we couldn’t have the turnovers, but we didn’t take care of business.”

For Texas Tech (7-1, 4-1) all season.. turning over the ball as been their Achilles heal and last Saturday it caught up with them, where they are now a minus-6 on the year (T-9th FBS).

As an offense, we’ve done a terrible job this season giving the ball away, and that’s been a big part of the season of being in close games like that,” Texas Tech Jace Amaro said. “You can’t turn the ball over. That was a huge reason why we lost. A lot of that was because I turned the ball over once.”

Texas Tech is ranked third in their nation with 412.9 passing yards.

Where as Texas Tech relies on its passing attack… the Cowboys (6-1, 3-1) will go to its ground game with Desmond Roland, who set a career-high last week with 219 yards rushing on 26 carries and four touchdowns.

He’s worked hard and he got more carries,” Cowboys coach Mike Gundy said. “The majority of it falls on our offense line and their ability to block so that the running backs don’t have to make a cut in the backfield.”

The Cowboys have some uncertainty with their quarterback positions.. Clint Chelf or J.W. Walsh?

We need to throw the ball better, period,” Gundy said. “If you look at the opponent we’re playing this week, they’re scoring and they’ve been effective in throwing the football. There’s three phases in a game. We all know that. At some point, you have to match them where their strength is.”

Oklahoma St. has dominated the Red Raiders winning four in a row, outscoring them in the last two meetings by a combined score of 125-27, including a 66-6 thrashing they gave to the Red Raiders in Lubbock in 2011.

You’re coming back home to play against a team that’s really embarrassed you the last two years, to put it bluntly,” Kingsbury said. “I don’t think there should be any problem with getting them motivated to play this game, and everything’s out in front of them. If you want to win the Big 12, you’re going to have to win the rest of the games anyways, and I think they see that.”

Texas Tech has revenge on their mind, and still posses an explosive offense and with uncertainty at the quarterback position for the Cowboys… I like the Red Raiders to win.

NCAA Prediction College Football Preview & Pick- #21 South Carolina vs. #5 Missouri

#21 South Carolina Gamecocks (5-2) @ #5 Missouri Tigers (7-0) 10/26- 7:00PM EST

Line: MIZZ -2.5

Over/Under: 52.5

No. 5 ranked Missouri Tigers (7-0, 3-0 SEC) will be looking to all but wrap up the Southeastern Conference East division with a win over visiting #21 South Carolina Gamecocks who suffered a stunning loss last week at the hands of Tennessee.

The Tigers (7-0, 3-0) in just their second season in the SEC are playing beyond everyone’s expectations, undefeated and in the thick of the race for a BCS National Championship… not bad for a team picked to finish sixth in the SEC East.

We’d be dumb if our goal wasn’t to go to a national championship,” left tackle Justin Britt said.

The Tigers had reason for concern when they lost starting quarterback James Franklin in their win over Georgia, however freshman QB Maty Mauk stepped in last week and led the Tigers to eight scoring drives over the Gators.

You came to perform at the college level,” Mauk said. “It kind of is nerve-wracking, but at the same time, it’s what you’re here to do.”

The Tigers understand not to put too much into poll rankings as they have been there before and failed to reach the national championship.

I don’t think we’ve accomplished much,” receiver L’Damian Washington said. “Georgia, last week, you’d have thought, ‘OK, that’s a big win. ‘After the game, we were like, ‘Ok, that’s just step six. ‘And this was step seven, and next week is step eight.”

Missouri as a whole is ‘bringing it’ on both sides of the ball with a potent balanced-attack (279-air, 234.4-ground) averaging 44.3 points a game and beating their opponents by at least 15 points a game.

Defensively, the Tigers have limited their foes to 22.1 points and 381 yards a game total and also lead the SEC with 23 sacks.

Missouri winning its next two ball games at home against the Gamecocks and Tennessee will assure themselves a spot in the SEC championship game Dec. 7th.

Personally, I like being the underdog, because not a lot of people were expecting us to do the things that we’re doing right now,” center Evan Boehm said. “And we’re out there to create those big eyes and say, ‘Holy cow, where did Mizzou come from?”

As for South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, he knows with an upset on Saturday, his Gamecocks can get themselves back in the race.

We’re not going to get much attention this week,” Spurrier said. “Like I told the team, we’re on TV but the nation wants to watch Missouri. They don’t want to watch us now after losing a game. Maybe we can go out there and show them something, hopefully, so that’s what we’ll try to do.”

With the Gamecocks first-ever trip to Mizzu, what’s at stake is simple… lose, and the race is over.

It’s a game that’s going to decide whether or not we’re in the division hunt or not. Simple as that. I think all of our players know that,” Spurrier said.

The Gamecocks will be primed and ready for an upset… linebacker Skai Moore says, “We’re confident that we could go in there and take care of business this week.”

Look for a well played game with the Gamecocks playing with a sense of urgency to stay in the race, but Mizzou is playing with a high level of confidence. Solid to this point.

My NCAA Prediction for Saturday´s game South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Missouri Tigers

Pick: Missouri Tigers

NCAA Pick College Football Preview & Prediction – #9 UCLA vs. #13 Stanford

NCAA Pick College Football Preview & Prediction – #9 UCLA vs. #13 Stanford

#9 UCLA Bruins (5-0) @ #13 Stanford Cardinal (5-1) 10/19- 3:30PM EST

Line: STAN -5.5

Over/Under: 52.0

The No. 9 ranked UCLA Bruins (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) take their high flying act into Stanford Stadium on Saturday looking to stay unbeaten and remain in the Top 10, a place they haven’t enjoyed since the 2005 team.

But, to do so they will be faced against a solid Stanford team (5-1, 3-1 Pac-12) who hold a 12-game home winning streak and have not lost two straight games in four years.

The Bruins are going in with a chip on their shoulder after the Cardinal beat them twice in 2012 in back-to-back weeks. Once during the regular season and then the following week in the Pac-12 Championship 27-24.

The Bruins have dropped five-straight to Stanford.

I think you have to be careful when you make it about redemption,” UCLA coach Jim Mora said. “Then you start to get emotional. It has to be about us. We have goals and expectations. We want to play with emotion but not be emotional. They beat us twice last year, (including) in the Pac-12 championship game. When those things become a factor, I think you are making a mistake. Stanford is an outstanding football team.”

Stanford’s 13-game win streak came to end last week in Utah, a place UCLA won nine days earlier.

We knew we were coming into a hornet’s nest here. Stanford coach David Shaw said. “UCLA came in here a week ago and barely squeaked out. We knew it would be a battle and we didn’t play well enough.”

The Cardinal are looking to regain their offensive form they have lost over the last couple of games, where they have now fallen to 11th in total offense (405.2 yards per game) in the Pac-12.

The first word I use is perspective,” Shaw said. “Let’s look at how we got here. Let’s look at where we’re going. That’s the most important thing for me. In order to really go forward, you have to look at where you are.”

Offense is not a problem for the Bruins where they are ranked fifth in the nation with 547.0 yards per game and seventh with 45.8 points per contest.

UCLA may be without their top rusher Jordan James (ankle) for a second straight week, who injured the ankle in Utah.

I think it’s a stretch to think that he’ll play,” Mora said. “Don’t want to rule him out, but I think that it’d be a real stretch. He’s still in a boot.”

The Bruins hope to take advantage of a depleted Stanford defensive line dealing with injuries, which has resulted in them allowing 400 yards of offense in consecutive weeks for the first time since 2011.

Great game, tough one to call.. but with a much improved sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley this season, I see the Bruins winning in a close one on the road.

PICK: UCLA Bruins
