Unique: Beckham prepared for MLS ownership challenge
David Beckham has requested the rich Qatari house owners of Paris Saint-Germain to assist fund his new Main League Soccer franchise in Miami, according to Le Parisien.
Beckham, 38, introduced the curtain down on his enjoying career after serving to PSG win the Ligue 1 title last season, and has maintained close connections with the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The previous England worldwide’s arrival in the French capital wouldn’t have been possible with out the sources of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), who have pumped more than 300 million euros into the PSG squad since taking over in the summertime of 2011.
And now Beckham, who was final month invited to a PSG charity perform, hopes QSI will be part of him and backers Marcelo Claure and Simon Fuller in helping re-set up football in Florida’s fundamental metropolis.
“Sure, David Beckham has asked us for assist,” Le Parisien quotes a QSI source as saying. “No choice has been taken yet.”
The former Los Angeles Galaxy player has exercised the choice in an outdated contract to purchase an MLS expansion crew, with the deal set to be finalised when he can secure a financing plan and location for a new stadium.
