Miami Hurricanes (9-3) vs. #18 Louisville Cardinals (11-1) 12/28- 6:45PM EST

Line: LOU -3.5

Over/Under: 57.5

In what will likely be Teddy Bridgewater’s final game in a Louisville Cardinals’ uniform as he is expected to declare for the NFL draft, he will lead his football team against the Miami Hurricanes in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Saturday night.

Saturday’s bowl matchup will also feature two teams that will become conference rivals as #18 Louisville will be moving into the ACC next year to join Miami.. a team that Florida native Bridgewater had originally committed to before deciding on Louisville.

With Bridgewater expected to be a sure top 10 NFL pick next April, the junior quarterback who was a leading candidate for the Heisman before falling off is looking to go out on top come Saturday.

With a 38-35 defeat to Central Florida back on October 18th and failing to throw for 300 yards in his final four games with only five touchdown passes, he saw his Heisman Trophy chances go by the wayside as he was not invited to New York as a finalist.

Despite his lack of production towards the end of the season, Bridgewater still finished with 3,523 yards and 28 touchdowns with only four interceptions to finish as the nation’s fifth-leading passer, but in the end couldn’t get his Cardinals (11-1) back to a BCS bowl after last year’s Sugar Bowl win over Florida.

This is a very talented young man. He has great command on the offense,” Miami coach Al Golden said.

Miami (9-3) had recruited Bridgewater successfully and had a verbal commitment back in 2010, but after the firing of then head coach Randy Shannon following a 7-6 season, Bridgewater bolted for Louisville.

The Cardinals have 23 Miami-area natives on their team and are thrilled to be going back home to face a Miami team of players many have played against growing up.

When they found out, it was like ‘We’re playing back at home again, we’re playing basically our teammates and the people that they play in high school,’” said senior defensive end Marcus Smith, a Georgia native who is the AAC defensive player of the year. “Feeling that with them is gonna be great one.”

Miami will be playing in their first postseason game since 2010, when the university implemented a self-imposed two-year bowl ban due to improper benefits from a booster. Former Miami assistant Clint Hurtt who was implicated in the scandal is now on the Cardinals staff.

Early on, the Hurricanes were a top 25 team but lost three in a row and fell out of the rankings, but now look to post their first double-digit wins since the 2003 season.

Our kids are excited, I think they’re grateful.” Golden said. “They’ve been through a lot the past two years, and they have not been able to have this opportunity.

They’re practicing with a purpose, they’re excited, and clearly they have a really tough opponent coming up.”

The Hurricanes feel they have a great quarterback of their own in the likes of Stephen Morris, who threw for 2,868 yards with 21 touchdowns and looks forward to matching up with Bridgewater.

It’d be a great challenge and a great headline for a lot people,” Morris said

Louisville will be moving to the ACC’s Atlantic Division next season, while the Canes are in the Coastal but are scheduled to play one another next year.

When we go play in the ACC next year, I think (the bowl) will put our stamp on this season, and it will tell the world that we can play with teams in the ACC and we can play with anybody,” Smith said.

The oddsmakers feel the Cardinals can play with the Hurricanes now as they have made them a (minus -3.5) point favorite, but get the latest lines on the game up until kickoff right here at Wonder Punter.

Smith finished second in the nation with 12 ½ sacks and with a Cardinals defense that ranked second in the FBS allowing only 257.9 yards per game and has been dominate against the run allowing just 86.3 yards per contest, I like and predict the Cardinals making it a happy home coming for many of its players.

Miami top rusher Duke Johnson suffered a season-ending injury with a broken ankle back in mid-season to make the challenge that much greater against the Cardinals defense, but expect an entertaining bowl game.

NFL Prediction Week 16 Game Preview/Pick- Arizona vs. Seattle

nfl picks

Arizona Cardinals (9-5) @ Seattle Seahawks (12-2) 12/22- 4:05PM EST

Line: SEA -10.5

Over/Under: 43.0

The stakes will be high for both the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon with the Cardinals looking to stay alive for the postseason and the Seahawks looking to earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

For Seattle, the last time they accomplished that feat of home-field advantage, they reached the Super Bowl. For the Cardinals, a loss would all but knock them out of a playoff berth.

The Seahawks (12-2) have to be licking their chops with the possibility of playing the remainder of their games at CenturyLink Field, where they have won 14 regular-season home games since their last loss on December 24th, 2011 to San Francisco.

The year was 2005 when the Seahawks made their Super Bowl run in which they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here we come this week and there’s nothing new, which is a good thing. We’re going to make the most of what we got,” said coach Pete Carroll, who is striving to clinch his second division title with Seattle and the third of his career.

The Seahawks had a field day last week in New York against the Giants, picking off Eli Manning five times in route to a 23-0 shutout win. The Seattle defense was dominating, holding the Giants to just a paltry 181 yards… their season-low.

Corners Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell intercepted Manning twice last Sunday and Sherman, who has six INTs this season has shown his defensive might against the Cardinals where he has four interceptions and two fumble recoveries over his last four games against them.

All the guys contributed, the linebacker and everyone contributed,” Carroll said, and it’s that same contribution Carroll is looking for again against the Cardinals after the Seahawks sacked Carson Palmer seven times and picked him off twice in a 34-22 road win back in Week 7.

Since that home loss, Arizona (9-5) has won six of seven since, with Palmer showcasing a 106.0 passer rating during that stretch… among the best in the NFL.

We’re starting to get a lot confidence as a team,” Palmer said.

Palmer is 0-1 in Seattle having lost back in 2007 when he was with the Bengals and knows the challenge will be a difficult one on Sunday.

Obviously, they’re confident for a reason,” Palmer said. “They’ve won a lot of football games, they’ve won at home, but we’ve been playing well the past couple of months. It’s a big game for them, a big game for us.”

The Cardinals have already assured themselves a winning season, their first since 2009, but even they win their remaining games and go 11-5 during the season, they may still be left out of postseason play.

The last time we were there, obviously everyone knows what happened,” coach Bruce Arenas said of the Cardinals 58-0 shellacking at Seattle last year. “That wasn’t we, that was another team. So this is our barometer to see where we’re at”

Palmer will enter Sunday’s big game a little banged-up as he is nursing a high ankle sprain, but it’s his No. 1 target Larry Fitzgerald who may miss the game after suffering a concussion late in the Cardinals’ 37-34 overtime victory at Tennessee.

Fitzgerald is due to undergo one more concussion test before he is cleared to play, but Seattle has done a defensive number on Fitzgerald limiting the All-Pro receiver to just 82 yards on seven receptions over the last three matchups.

Throw in Russell Wilson’s undefeated home winning streak, recording a 119.2 passer rating with 29 touchdowns to only six INTs and we can see why the oddsmakers have made the Seahawks a huge (minus 10.5) point favorite at home, but get the latest lines on the game up until kickoff right here at Wonder Punter.

Running back Marshawn Lynch will try to find some success on the ground against an Arizona defense that has limited opponents to only 69.4 yards rushing per contest with just two scores in their last seven games.

Receiver Percy Harvin is questionable (hip) and cornerback Brandon Browner has been suspended indefinitely for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Browner has been out since week 10 because of the suspension.

The Seahawks have beaten the Cardinals five of the last seven times and I expect and predict another victory for a Seattle team that is for real this year.

Cards’ Dansby: Dolphins were disrespectful to me

Karlos Dansby wasn't happy about how his time with the Dolphins ended. (USATSI)
Karlos Dansby wasn't happy about how exactly his time with the Dolphins finished.(USATSI)

Through thirteen games, Karlos Dansby and the 8-5 Arizona Cardinals have been one of the impresses of the NFL season. Dansby, who else signed with the Cardinals in May, could be the leading tackler for Arizona's fifth-ranked defense.

Among the things that seems to be driving Dansby this year is how his time in Arkansas ended. After leading Miami's protection in tackles in 2012, the Dolphins decided to save some money and move on with out him. Dansby was cut simply by Miami in March, a proceed that he says was disrespectful in order to him and his family.

"For someone to take cash off the table, it was disrespectful, inch Dansby told theRick Rome Showon Wednesday. "There was still money in Arkansas and they took it off our kid's table, so that's quite disrespectful to me. "

If Dansby hadn't already been cut, he would have made a base income of $6. 05 million with all the Dolphins this season. Instead, Dansby is definitely making $2. 25 million with all the Cardinals. Dansby was also irked by fact that the Dolphins cut your pet over the phone and not in person.

"It would have managed to get ten times better, they would have demostrated me they respected me like a man, and not just a player, " Dansby said.

Dansby's also out to prove that he could play. "I got to show the planet what I got, " Dansby mentioned. "A lot of people questioned several things. I played with a torn bicep last year, no surgery, no absolutely nothing, I had 134 tackles, had fun performing it showing people I can play the overall game with one arm. Now is actually healthy, it's strong, and I am up for the defensive player from the year. "

The 32-year-old linebacker hasn't been described too prominently in defensive gamer of the year conversations, but maybe this individual should be.

Dansby is tied for the NFL business lead in defensive touchdowns (2) plus he's tied for fifth within the league among linebackers with 5 interceptions. Dansby's 105 tackles rates in the top-20 in the NFL great six sacks ranks in the top-20 among linebackers. The Cardinals linebacker has also defended 16 passes, several that ranks seventh in the little league.

Although he or she wasn't happy how his amount of time in Miami ended, Dansby said he is glad he came back to Az, where he spent his first 6 seasons. Dansby was a second circular pick of the Cardinals in the 2005 NFL Draft.

"That was the whole game plan: return and finish strong. Get your title in the [Cardinals] Band of Honor, " Dansby mentioned. "I want to be in the Hall associated with Fame one day. These are goals I had developed set when I first got into the particular league. "

GM defends Peralta signing; Cards are not ‘police’

Peralta indicators 4-yr, $52 million take care of St. Louis | Tipping level?

The Cardinals have been met with some criticism from gamers, fans and media after inking shortstop Jhonny Peralta to a 4-yr, $fifty two million contract this past season. The problem in the minds of the dissenters is that Peralta was seemingly “rewarded” for a season in which he served a 50-sport suspension for his ties to PED through the Biogenesis clinic.

As for his facet of the story, Cardinals normal supervisor John Mozeliak replied with the following in a press convention Monday morning: “I don’t think it is the Cardinals duty essentially to be the moral police on probably future employment.”

More from Mozeliak:

“The shortstop market was one that was not deep in free brokers. For us it was actually focusing on someone who might hit from the right facet, somebody who was a steady defensive participant, someone who had expertise and could fit proper in.”

Character and make-up are one thing we weigh into our determination-making. In his case, he admitted what he did, he took duty for it. I feel like he has paid for his errors, and obviously if he have been to make another one, then it might be a huge disappointment.

Mozeliak also stated that he actually agrees with the sentiment that apparently a 50-sport suspension for a first offense doesn’t seem to be sufficient of a deterrent, but apparently he doesn’t have a problem playing legally throughout the guidelines. That’s certainly his proper.

He does, nevertheless, believe the sport is cleaner these days than it was prior to now.

“I believe Major League Baseball has carried out an incredible job making an attempt to clean up this sport, and I really feel like they’ve taken great steps,” he stated.

The current MLB collective bargaining agreement is signed by Dec. 1, 2016, so it is doable any modifications to the Joint Drug Agreement must wait till then, but you by no means know. Modifications to the JDA could be made with out amending the CBA, as one might recall that this previous January MLB added random, in-season testing for human progress hormone (HGH).

Arians beats old team as Cards crush Colts

Cardinals Clobber Colts

Cardinals Clobber Colts

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Indianapolis Colts propelled Bruce Arians into coaching prominence.

On Sunday, as head coach in Arizona, his Cardinals embarrassed his former team.

Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes to Larry Fitzgerald, Karlos Dansby returned an interception 22 yards for a score and the Cardinals won their fourth in a row with a 40-11 rout of the Colts.

“We expect to dominate like this all the time,” Dansby said. “We just finally put it together as a unit. We’re starting to believe in each other and trust one another and we’re making plays all around.”

Arians became interim head coach of the Colts last season when Chuck Pagano was stricken with leukemia. Indianapolis went 9-3 under Arians, earning him coach of the year honors and a head coaching job in the desert.

Now the 61-year-old coach is doing the same kind of job with the Cardinals (7-4).

“The emotions of this game were gone way before kickoff,” Arians said. “I saw a lot of friends, a lot of dear guys on that team. But once the whistle blows, it’s just you and your brother in the backyard.”

And Arizona was the big brother in this one.

“I think this was a respect game,” Palmer said. “I don’t think we’re well-respected throughout the league and that’s not anybody’s fault but our own.

“But I think we’re better than people think and when you beat a good team, and a team that’s beat good teams, it ups your respect among your peers and throughout the league.”

Fitzgerald caught five passes for 52 yards, becoming the youngest player in NFL history to reach 11,000 yards receiving.

Arizona’s Michael Floyd had his second straight 100-yard receiving day with seven catches for 104 yards for the Cardinals (7-4).

Andrew Luck threw for 163 yards, but had only 84 through three quarters as the Colts (7-4) fell behind 34-3. It’s a familiar pattern.

In their past four games, the Colts have been outscored in the first half 93-12.

“There is blood in the water right now,” Pagano said. “Until you get it fixed they are going to keep coming at us. It is the same thing week in and week out on both sides of the ball and on special teams… They are going to keep coming at you until we put out the fire. `’

The Colts still have a solid lead in the AFC South.

“I don’t know if I can big picture it right now coming off the field after we getting our butts beat like that. It is hard to,” Luck said. “I guess we are sitting at 7-4, but I don’t know what that means either.”

Jay Feely kicked four field goals in Arizona’s highest-scoring game in three years, including a 21-yarder in the final minutes with the outcome long decided.

Palmer, coming off a 419-yard passing performance against Jacksonville, completed 26 of 37 for 314 yards and, for the second week in a row, threw no interceptions.

The Colts’ touchdown came on Luck’s 17-yard pass to Coby Fleener with 10:26 to play.

Palmer threw touchdown passes to Fitzgerald of 4 and 26 yards, then Dansby – who had been kidded by his teammates for dropping a few potential interceptions this season – picked off Luck’s pass and returned it for a touchdown as the Cardinals blew open a 27-3 halftime lead.

Arizona took the opening kickoff and went 80 yards in 10 plays, Palmer hitting Fitzgerald with a 4-yard fade pass for the touchdown. The Cardinals had no third downs on the drive.

Arizona had a chance to lengthen the lead but the drive stalled at the Colts 10, then Sergio Brown blocked Feely’s 28-yard field goal attempt. It ended a string of 17 consecutive field goals for the Arizona kicker.

Adam Vinatieri kicked a 27-yard field goal to cut it to 7-3 with 1:15 left in the first quarter.

But Arizona’s offense got it rolling again. Palmer connected with Floyd for 29 yards to the Indianapolis 26.

On the next play, Palmer, hit as he threw, lofted a pass to the end zone, where Fitzgerald beat two defenders to make the catch for the score to make it 14-3 with 13:29 left in the half.

Moments later, Luck, under pressure from Darnell Dockett, threw toward Fleener. But Dansby stepped in front of the tight end, intercepted and returned it 22 yards for the touchdown to put Arizona up 24-3 with 7:55 left in the second quarter.

It was Dansby’s first touchdown since his 17-yard fumble return in overtime ended the Cardinals’ 51-45 wild-card playoff victory over Green Bay on Jan. 10, 2010.

Game notes

Through three quarters, the Cardinals had 346 yards to the Colts’ 96… Fitzgerald is 30 years, 85 days.

Randy Moss

had been the youngest to reach 11,000 at 30 years, 222 days… Colts cornerback

Vontae Davis

left the game with a groin injury… Arizona hasn’t scored this many points since a 43-13 win over Denver on Dec. 10, 2010.

Cardinals trade Freese for Angels’ Bourjos

Angels Get Freese In Deal With Cards

The St. Louis Cardinals have sent third baseman and former World Series MVP David Freese to the Los Angeles Angels for outfielder Peter Bourjos as part of a four-player trade, the teams confirmed Friday.

David Freese

Third baseman David Freese, who hit only nine home runs last season for the Cardinals, has been traded to the Los Angeles Angels.

In addition to Freese, the Angels will receive reliever Fernando Salas. The Cardinals will receive outfield prospect Randal Grichuk.

Freese, a hero in St. Louis' 2011 World Series run, fell off markedly this past season. After hitting293 with 20 home runs and making the National League All-Star team in 2012, he batted262 with nine homers in 2013.

Freese's OPS dropped from839 to721, and he hit only179 (10-for-56) in the playoffs. Freese fills the third-base void in Anaheim that was created when the Angels traded Alberto Callaspo to Oakland in July.

Even if Freese fails to regain his 2012 All-Star form, he still appears to be a significant upgrade at third base for the Angels. Manager Mike Scioscia used seven players at that position last season, with Callaspo, Chris Nelson, Luis Jimenez and Andrew Romine logging the bulk of the at-bats.

Overall, Angels third basemen ranked 27th in the majors with an aggregate637 OPS, and they hit only eight home runs. Only Miami, with a total of three homers, got less power out of the third-base spot.

Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto has made upgrading the pitching staff a prime focus of his offseason activity, and now he has about $4 million of added payroll. The Angels are hoping that Salas, who has 186 strikeouts in 192 1/3 big league innings, can help improve a bullpen that went 20-27 with a 4.12 ERA.

Bourjos, a superb defender in center field, is a strong candidate to take over the position from Jon Jay in St. Louis. With Freese gone, the Cardinals could slide Matt Carpenter to third base and play prospect Kolten Wong at second.

"We are excited to be adding the outfield defense and speed that Bourjos provides, and Grichuk is a top prospect who will be in the mix with some of our other top position players such as Oscar Taveras and Stephen Piscotty " Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said. "We wish both David and Fernando the best and thank them for their contributions – especially the many memorable moments they provided during the 2011 championship season."

Grichuk was selected with the 24th overall pick by the Angels in the 2009 draft – one spot ahead of Mike Trout.

Colts at Cardinals odds, prediction, and preview

Mandatory Credit: Phil Sears-USA AT THIS TIME Sports

The Indianapolis Colts (7-3) tackle the Arizona Cardinals (6-4) this Sunday in Phoenix, AZ. Arizona is four-1 at residence and Indianapolis is four-1 on the road. The Cardinals are riding a 3 sport profitable streak, however the groups they have crushed throughout the streak have combined for 5 wins on the season. The Colts are their hardest opponent in over a month.

The Colts have a great file at 7-3, however their last three video games have been rocky. In week 9, the Colts needed a fifteen level fourth quarter to beat the struggling Houston Texans. In week ten, the Colts had their worst sport of the season with Andrew Luck throwing three interceptions in a 38-8 loss at home to the St. Louis Rams. Last week, the Colts bought again on track with a 30-27 win in opposition to the Tennessee Titans. It was a superb bounce again win, but a sample of first half deficits appears to be forming.

A obvious statistical difference between the 2 teams is their speeding defenses. The Cardinals are second in the league, limiting opponents to 81.4 yards per sport while the Colts are 28th , allowing 126.1 yards per recreation. Indianapolis’ dashing protection is probably not exploited by Arizona as a result of the Cardinals have the 25th ranked rushing assault at 85.6 yards per sport.

I believe predicting a winner in this recreation comes right down to the x-issue. Colts QB Andrew Luck is the x-factor. His leadership and overall talent level make up for being on the highway in opposition to a good staff. Not having WR Reggie Wayne will make it a close recreation, but the Colts will pull it out in the long run. Colts win 24-21.

Will Cardinals be able to make deal for Tulowitzki?

Would Troy Tulowitzki be a fit in St. Louis? (USATSI) Would Troy Tulowitzki be a fit in St. Louis? (USATSI)

EXTRA: Roundup for Nov. 10

At the upcoming GM conferences, the Cardinals and Rockies might discuss a major trade involving Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, stories Yahoo!’s Jeff Passan. According to Passan, the two sides have already engaged in informal commerce talks.

The Cardinals are known to be available in the market for an improve at shortstop after getting basement-level manufacturing from Pete Kozma in 2013. They have a surfeit of younger pitching from which to deal, and the Rockies, denizens of Coors Discipline, are all the time within the hunt for younger pitching.

Of the Rockies’ earlier claims that Tulowitzki is not going wherever, Passan writes:

While Rockies ownership has stated publicly it has no intentions of trading Tulowitzki, privately it continues to weigh benefits of liberating itself from the ultimate seven years and $134 million assured remaining on his contract in opposition to the lack of a celebrity and the public-relations hit of trading a beloved homegrown player.

For sure, this is able to be a blockbuster. Tulowitzki is a standout defender at quick, and for his career he owns an OPS+ of 120 to go together with two Silver Sluggers. In addition to that massive contract, although, he additionally has health considerations, as Tulowitzki has lost more than 250 video games to injury throughout components of eight major-league seasons.

As well, Tulowitzki has a no-trade clause, which implies, of course, that he’d must approve a trade to St. Louis. As Passan notes, although, former teammate and current Cardinal Matt Holliday could be persuasive on that entrance.

Ortiz named MVP after hitting .688 vs. Cards

BOSTON – Most Priceless Papi.

David Ortiz walked off because the World Series MVP on Wednesday night, capping a dominant week through which he spurred the Boston Purple Sox over St. Louis with a mix of energy, patience and a most timely pep speak.

Ortiz hoisted reliever Koji Uehara after the final out of a 6-1 win, then Large Papi raised the gleaming gold trophy in his crowning achievement.

“I know I’m one of many forces for this ballgame and I prefer to take things private,” he stated. “And that’s been my complete profession, a challenge.

“I wasn’t trying to be the man, but I do know I received to get something done to keep the line shifting. I don’t even have to do something at present, I assume, the rest of the staff took over.”

Now a three-time champion, Oritz is the final hyperlink to the Crimson Sox workforce that swept the Cardinals in 2004 and ended an 86-yr title drought.

“He just keeps writing new chapters,” general manager Ben Cherington. “I know nice gamers are great, are more likely to be great in any second but it surely’s arduous to see him in these moments and never suppose that there is something completely different about him. He is locked in. We’ve seen him locked in before but to do it on this stage, and do it in so many large moments, I am unable to add anything extra to the legend that is already there, but he retains writing more chapters on his own.”

After some time, the Cardinals merely gave up attempting to get him out. Ortiz walked four times – three of them intentional – within the 6-1 win Wednesday night in Recreation 6 that clinched the championship.

Ortiz CelebrationMVP David Ortiz hugs supervisor John Farrell after a World Sequence that noticed him acquire six RBIs.

When Ortiz came to the plate for the last time, within the eighth inning with the end result safely in hand, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina stood up and spoke to him within the batter’s field. Molina softly patted Ortiz twice on the facet, too.

Effectively accomplished, pal.

Ortiz watched 4 extra large ones and trotted to first base, having piled up totals that not even slow-pitch softball players dream about: He reached base a whopping 19 occasions in 25 plate appearances – the second-most in a single World Series behind the Giants’ Barry Bonds (21) in 2002.

The sellout crowd broke into thunderous chants of “MVP! MVP!” every time Ortiz batted. Fairly a turnaround for the 37-year-previous slugger who badly slumped within the AL Championship Collection.

Ortiz hit eleven-for-sixteen (.688) with a 1.948 OPS, two home runs and six RBIs in opposition to the Cardinals, and just missed a grand slam when Carlos Beltran robbed him by reaching over the short bullpen wall. By comparison, the remainder of the Purple Sox hit169 with a 484 OPS and two home runs.

Asked to explain Ortiz, manager John Farrell paused.

“Well, I would in all probability moderately let his bat do the talking, as a result of it’s pretty particular,” he stated.

Ortiz also drew eight walks and legged out just a few infield hits, helped by St. Louis second baseman Matt Carpenter taking part in method out in shallow right area. At one level, Ortiz tied a Series file by reaching base in nine straight journeys.

“He is as hot as anyone you’re going to see this time of 12 months,” Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. “We tried to make powerful pitches in tough conditions, tried to pitch around him at occasions.”

Ortiz’s760 on-base percentage and batting average had been the second-highest in Sequence historical past, trailing only Billy Hatcher’s marks of800 and750 in 1990 for Cincinnati.

As Ortiz got here up within the first inning, Molina and plate umpire Jim Joyce talked about him.

“This man’s unbelievable,” Molina said on Fox audio.

“He is fun to observe,” Joyce mentioned.

Yet for all the impact he made swinging the bat in getting 11 of Boston’s 41 hits – or just standing there and watching the Cardinals pitch around him – Ortiz made an equally vital contribution along with his words.

With St. Louis leading the Sequence 2-1 and the Red Sox scuffling in Recreation four, Ortiz known as his bearded band together for an impromptu huddle in the dugout.

Ortiz mentioned he merely advised the fellows to loosen up, keep loose and respect the moment. His teammates advised a special story after Boston rallied to win.

“It was like 24 kindergartners looking up at their instructor. He obtained everybody’s consideration and we appeared him proper within the eyes,” stated Jonny Gomes, who answered with a profitable dwelling run. “That message was fairly powerful.”

That is also what the Purple Sox count on from their Dominican-born thumper, identified for his neatly tailor-made suits and dazzling diamond jewelry.

Whatever the Purple Sox want, and whenever they want it, he’s ready. When the Collection shifted to St. Louis and there was no designated hitter, he adeptly moved from the DH spot to first base.

He did the identical factor method back in the 2004 Collection, and once more in 2007 when the Pink Sox swept Colorado.

As the Crimson Sox celebrated on the field after the ultimate out, Ortiz considered what it meant to win a 3rd title. Straightforward, he answered.

“That means I’m getting old,” he mentioned.

Report: Cardinals may be willing to deal Fitzgerald

May Larry Fitzgerald be traded this offseason? (USATSI)

With Tuesday’s commerce deadline approaching, loads of teams are on the lookout for vast receivers. The Cardinals aren’t anticipated to move Larry Fitzgerald in the coming days however that might change after the season.

Based on ESPN’s Adam Schefter “a trade for Fitzgerald will probably be in play this offseason.. when some believe a divorce is someplace between attainable and inevitable.”

Fitgerald, Arizona’s first-spherical choose in 2004, remains one of many league’s best receivers, although he is been plagued by substandard quarterback play in recent years. That stated, his contract could possibly be a huge impediment; Fiztgerald’s cap hit for 2014 is $18 million and it goes as much as $21.3 million in 2015.

Still, if teams like 49ers, Patriots, Lions, Ravens and Colts don’t land a wideout in the coming days, there could possibly be interest in Fitzgerald once the offseason arrives. And whether or not the Cardinals wish to admit it or not, they’re in rebuilding mode and might use all of the high-spherical draft picks they’ll get.

MLB World Series- Cardinals Win In A Wild Ninth 5-4

World Series Game 2: Cardinals win 5-4

Best-of-Seven: St. Louis leads 2-1

For the first time in postseason history, a game was decided by an obstruction call and it’s the first time since 1986’s Game 6 that a World Series game was decided by an error in what was a bizarre ending in Game 3 of the Fall Classic that saw the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 to take a 2-1 series lead.

The play in question that everyone will be talking about, and for all intent and purposes was the correct call took place in the bottom of the ninth inning when third baseman Will Middlebrooks tripped the Cardinals’ Allen Craig as he was trying to score on an errant throw from Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia who seconds before successfully tagged out Yadier Molina.

Second baseman Dustin Pedroia fielded Jon Jay’s grounder and immediately threw home to get a sliding Molina for the second out… Saltalamacchia then threw wildly to third base in hopes of completing a double play with a sliding Allen Craig. It was then, when Middlebrooks dove for the ball as it went wide down the left field line and tripped Craig as he attempted to get up and go home.

Left fielder Daniel Nava fielded the ball and gunned it home and had Craig beat when he slid home, however as the Red Sox where about to begin celebrating a successful double play… third base umpire Jim Joyce immediately signaled obstruction by Middlebrooks making Craig safe at the plate and more importantly giving St. Louis the win.

It was an entertaining game as the Red Sox fought back twice in Game 3 to tie the game in the six and eighth innings to set the stage for a wild bottom ninth.

Boston’s Jake Peavy started for the Red Sox but lasted only four innings giving up two runs.

Brandon Workman (0-1) took the loss for the BoSox.

Joe Kelly started for Cardinals and went 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, striking out six.

St. Louis closer Trevor Rosenthal (1-0) picked up the win despite allowing two runs as he tried for a five-out save with one out in the eight and bases loaded.

David Ortiz started first base for the Red Sox, but his bat did not cause any damage going 1 for 2 with two-walks.

Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday night at 8:15PM EST with Boston’s Clay Buchholz (0-0, 5.40 ERA) facing Lance Lynn (2-1, 5.40 ERA).

MLB World Series Recap- Cardinals Even Series

MLB World Series Recap- Cardinals Even Series

World Series Game 2- Cardinals win 4-2

Best-of-Seven: Series tied 1-1

It was the one-two punch of postseason rookie sensation Michael Wacha, Carlos Beltran and this time… fielding errors by the Red Sox that did them in as the St. Louis Cardinals took Game 2 of the World Series 4-2 to even the series 1-1 in the best-of-seven.

For Beltran, one day after leaving Game 1 for the hospital, was back in the line-up for the Redbirds and responded with two hits and a RBI to lead the way.

Somebody would have to kill me in order for me to get out of the line-up,” Beltran said.

NLCS MVP Michael Wacha wasn’t spectacular, but other then one bad pitch to David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz who took him yard for a two-run home run over the Green Monster… he did enough to keep the Cardinals in it.

Wacha went six innings, striking out six, allowed two runs, three hits and four walks. He is now 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA in four postseason outings. Wacha’s scoreless streak ended at 18 2/3 innings.

They don’t swing at bad pitches, really,” Wacha said. “They did a good job tonight grinding out at-bats with me and got the pitch count up.”

He pitched outstanding,” Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina said. “Just one pitch, to a great hitter like “Big Papi.”

Boston’s John Lackey ( 0-1) pitched well enough to win and appeared to be on his way for a victory until the seventh inning when on one play, the Red Sox committed two errors from catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and pitcher Craig Breslow giving St. Louis a 3-2 lead. Beltran then followed up with an RBI single to increase the lead to 4-2.

It just kind of sailed on me,” Breslow said. “I’ve made a throw of that distance before.”

We’re human. It happens,” Saltalamacchia said. “We saw them do the same thing last night. They shook it off and came out tonight and played well. That’s what were going to do.”

The Cardinals have to feel they stole Game 2, but now going home for three straight with a chance to end the series in St. Louis… they’ll take it.

Excited to get home. I know everybody is,” Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said.

Game 3 will resume Saturday night in St. Louis when Boston’s Jake Peavy (0-1, 8.31 ERA) will face Joe Kelly (0-1, 4.41 ERA)

Red Sox rout error-prone Cards in Game 1

Red Sox Cruise Past Cards In Recreation 1

BOSTON – An easy toss on a certain out that skittered away. A routine popup that in some way dropped between Gold Glovers. And one thing much more startling – umpires reversing a key name.

Virtually every part fell into place for the Boston Crimson Sox within the World Series opener.

Mike Napoli hit a three-run double proper after a sport-changing determination in the first inning, Jon Lester made the early lead arise and the Red Sox romped previous the sloppy St. Louis Cardinals 8-1 on Wednesday night for their ninth straight win in a World Sequence sport.

A season earlier than Main League Baseball is anticipated to increase instantaneous replay, followers obtained to see a preview. The complete six-man crew huddled and flipped a ruling on a forceout at second base – without taking a look at any video.

“I feel based mostly on their group conversation, surprisingly, to a sure extent, they overturned it and I think acquired the decision right,” Boston manager John Farrell mentioned.

David Ortiz was robbed of a grand slam by Carlos Beltran – a catch that despatched the star right fielder to a hospital with bruised ribs – however “Huge Papi” later hit a two-run homer after third baseman David Freese’s bad throw.

The Crimson Sox also capitalized on two errors by shortstop Pete Kozma to increase a Series winning streak that started once they swept St. Louis in 2004. Boston never trailed at any point in these four video games and coasted on this rollicking night at Fenway Park, because of a hideous display by the Cardinals.

It received so dangerous for St. Louis that the sellout crowd literally laughed when pitcher Adam Wainwright and catcher Yadier Molina, who have mixed to win six Gold Gloves, let a simple popup drop untouched between them.

Severe-minded St. Louis manager Mike Matheny didn’t find anything humorous, particularly when the umpires changed a name by Dana DeMuth at second base.

“Mainly, the explanation is that’s not a play I’ve ever seen earlier than. And I’m fairly sure there were six umpires on the field that had by no means seen that play earlier than, both,” Matheny mentioned.

“It is a fairly robust time to debut that overruled name in the World Sequence. Now, I get that they are attempting to get the appropriate name, I get that. Robust one to swallow,” he stated.

DeMuth stated he never really saw Kozma drop the ball.

“My vision was on the foot. And when I was arising, all I may see was a hand popping out and the ball on the bottom. All right? So I was assuming,” DeMuth told a pool reporter.

There was no dispute, however, that the umpires properly dominated Kozma had not caught a smooth toss from second baseman Matt Carpenter on a possible forceout. That’s what crew chief John Hirschbeck instructed Matheny.

“I simply defined to him.. that 5 of us were 100 percent sure,” Hirschbeck mentioned. “Our job is to get the play right. And that’s what we did.

“I said, ‘I know you are not pleased with it, that it went towards you, however it’s important to perceive that the play is correct.'”

Jon Lester

Robert Deutsch/USA RIGHT NOW Sports activities

Jon Lester struck out 8 over 7 2/3 scoreless innings in Boston’s 8-1 win Wednesday night time.

The usually slick-fielding Cardinals looked sloppy at each flip. Wainwright bounced a pickoff throw, Molina let a pitch trickle off his mitt, center fielder Shane Robinson bobbled the carom on Napoli’s double and there was a wild pitch.

The Cardinal Method? Extra like, no way.

“We had a wake-up name. That is not the kind of crew that we have been all season,” Matheny said. “And so they’re annoyed. I’m certain embarrassed to a point.”

Recreation 2 is Thursday night, with 22-12 months-previous rookie sensation Michael Wacha beginning for St. Louis towards John Lackey. Wacha is 3-zero with a zero.forty three PERIOD this postseason.

Beltran is day-to-day after X-rays had been destructive.

Lester blanked the Cardinals on five hits over 7 2/three innings and struck out eight for his third win this postseason.

“We wanted to set the tone and get them swinging,” he said.

Ryan Dempster gave up Matt Holliday’s leadoff dwelling run within the ninth.

Boston introduced the beards and made it a most hairy night for St. Louis. The Cardinals wrecked themselves with simply their second three-error recreation of the season.

The umpires made a mistake, too, but at the least they obtained to fix it in a hurry.

After the control-conscious Wainwright walked leadoff man Jacoby Ellsbury within the first inning, Dustin Pedroia singled him to second with one out.

Ortiz then hit a gradual grounder to Carpenter, and it did not seem the Cardinals could turn a double play. Hurrying, Kozma let the backhanded flip look off his glove.

DeMuth instantly referred to as Pedroia out, indicating that Kozma dropped the ball while making an attempt to transfer it to his throwing hand. Farrell rapidly popped out of the dugout to argue while Pedroia went to the bench.

Farrell argued with each umpire he could and should have made a persuasive case. Because the followers hollered louder and louder as they studied TV replays, all the umpires gathered on the dirt near shortstop and conferred. They determined there was no catch in any respect.

“You not often see that, especially on a stage like this,” Napoli stated. “However I believe that was good for the sport.”

Pedroia got here bounding from the dugout, and abruptly, the bases had been loaded in the first. Napoli unloaded them with a double that rolled to the Inexperienced Monster in left-heart.

Napoli, with maybe the bushiest beard of all, definitely picked up where he left off the final time he noticed the Cardinals in October. In the 2011 Collection, he hit350 with two dwelling runs and 10 RBIs as Texas misplaced in seven games to St. Louis.

The Red Sox added to their 3-0 lead with two extra runs in the second. A fielding error by Kozma set up Pedroia’s RBI single.

The entire inning got going when Stephen Drew’s popup in front of the mound landed at Wainwright’s feet, a step or two from Molina. The ace pitcher and the star catcher both hung their heads.

“I referred to as it. I waited for someone else to take cost. That’s not the way in which to play baseball. It was totally my error,” Wainwright mentioned.

Ortiz, who hit a tying grand slam at Fenway in the American League Championship Collection win over Detroit, despatched a protracted drive to right-middle. Beltran, playing in his first World Sequence, braced himself with one hand on the low wall in entrance of the bullpen and reached over together with his glove to make the catch.

“No less than I acquired an RBI and we have been up 4 and acquired the momentum,” Ortiz mentioned.

Beltran hurt himself on the play and left within the third inning.

Ortiz homered in the seventh, and the Pink Sox bought one other run within the eighth on a sacrifice fly by 21-year-outdated rookie Xander Bogaerts.

The Purple Sox virtually made a terrific play to finish the sport. With two outs in the ninth, Freese hit a pointy single and proper fielder Shane Victorino almost threw him out at first base.

NOTES: Lester has pitched thirteen 1/3 scoreless innings in two Series starts. He closed out a 2007 sweep over Colorado… The Red Sox won their fifth straight World Sequence opener since losing Sport 1 to St. Louis in 1967… Purple Sox Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski threw out the first ball… The workforce that won the Sequence opener has taken the title in 14 of the past sixteen years.

MLB Prediction World Series Preview & Pick – Cardinals vs. Red Sox

World Series- St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox

Best-of-Seven: Game 1 10/23- 8:07PM EST

Adam Wainwright (2-1, 1.57 ERA) vs. Jon Lester (2-1, 2.33 ERA)

All the hard work in Spring Training, the regular season and nail-biting postseason baseball has brought these two teams to where every team fights for to be on Opening day… the World Series!

Wednesday night at Fenway Park is where it all begins for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox as the play for the right to be crowned World Series Champions.

The Cardinals and Red Sox are no strangers to October baseball as St. Louis is shooting for their second title in three years and third in eight years. For the Boston, they are aiming for their third crown in 10 years.

The Redbirds and BoSox met in the 2004 World Series that saw Boston sweep and win their first title in 86-very-long years.

Boston’s David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz was part of that magical Red Sox team of 2004 that won it all.

On the other end, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny was the St. Louis catcher of that 2004 team that suffered the sweep. As was rookie back-up catcher back then, Yadier Molina, who many consider the best catcher in the game now.

Some of us have some pretty bad memories of being here in 2004, and we’re looking to kind of right that ship,” said Matheny.

It’s different to play here overall. Playing defense, offense, pitching. It’s different, but at the same time it’s fun,” Molina said.

One Cardinal, who will be anxious to get back to playing baseball will be Allen Craig, who hasn’t played ball since Sept. 4 because of a sprained left foot.

I feel like I’m in a good spot,” Craig says, who will be the Cardinals’ designated hitter.

Another player looking to make an impact will be 2011 World Series MVP David Freese, who watched the Red Sox sweep of ’04 on TV.

I remember the come backer that ended it. The sweep. You don’t expect a World Series to end in four games,” said Freese.

This will also be the first meeting for these two teams since 2008.

It will exciting to see some unfamiliar faces,” said Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury. “Obviously, I’m aware of the history of the two teams. Once the first pitch happens, all that goes out the window.”

NLCS rookie MVP Michael Wacha (3-0, 0.43) will face veteran John Lackey (2-0, 3.00 ERA) in Game 2 on Thursday.

Wacha knows the challenges pitchers face when dealing with Fenway Park.

A ballgame can change with one swing of the bat in this ballpark,” said Wacha. “It’s pretty crazy. Crazy dimensions, that’s for sure.”

Boston is listed as the slim favorite, however Cardinals’ pitching will be the key to winning it all, as the Red Sox have the stronger bats. Two good baseball teams that tied for the most wins in the majors.

So for my MLB Prediction of the World series

PICK: St. Louis Cardinals in six games.

MLB NLCS Game 6 Recap- Cardinals Advance To World Series

NLCS - Los Angeles Dodgers v St Louis Cardinals

MLB NLCS Game 6 Recap- Cardinals Advance To World Series

NLCS: Game 6- Cardinals won 9-0

Best-of-Seven: St. Louis wins series 4-2

It didn’t matter to the St. Louis Cardinals who was on the mound for the Dodgers on Friday night as they were determined not to have a repeat performance of last year blowing a 3-1 lead to the Giants, as they embarrassed the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-0 in Game 6 of the NL Championship Series to advance to its second World Series in three seasons.

Michael Carpenter of the Cardinals was the start of the Dodgers demise in Game 6 after battling Clayton Kershaw for ten pitches, he hit the eleventh pitch for a double to right field, then Carlos Beltran followed with a key single which sparked a four-run Cardinals third and the route was on.

Kershaw (0-2) got rocked again in the fifth inning when Matt Adams doubled to left scoring Yadier Molina and the flood gates opened up again leading to a five-run Cardinals fifth sending any hopes of a Dodger comeback out of reality.

Kershaw led the majors with 1.83 ERA, but on Friday night nothing was working against the Cardinal hitters giving up seven runs on 10-hits in just four innings of work.

If you don’t win, what’s the point?” Kershaw said.” It doesn’t really matter. All this stuff.”

On Kershaw… “He’s the best pitcher in baseball. He’s a real tough at-bat. Carpenter said. “ He got ahead of me like he almost always does. I struck out my first at-bat. And honestly, when he got two strikes on me the second at-bat, my mindset immediately changed. I’m not striking out.”

Cardinals’ rookie sensation Michael Wacha (2-0) was again masterful going seven scoreless innings with only two-hits allowed to a hot hitting Dodgers team coming off Game 5 with high expectations.

Wacha, 22, was selected MVP of the NLCS after throwing 13 2/3 scoreless innings and beating Kershaw twice.

It was just a horrible night all around the Dodgers who once they got punched in the mouth, couldn’t recover and that was all she wrote the rest of the way.

Expectations were high for the Dodgers this season, who with the second-highest payroll in all of baseball at $220 million, failed to reach the World Series. A title they have not won since 1988.

Going through spring, the long season and then it just comes to a crash,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. “So, it’s disappointing for all of us.”

I’m so happy right now. We did it as a team,” Beltran said. “We fought hard, we worked hard all season and thank God we’re here.”

St. Louis won their 19th NL pennant and will trying for their third World Series title since 2006, winning in 2011.

Game 1 of the World Series will start Wednesday in the American League Championship Series winners ballpark between the Red Sox and Tigers.

NCAA College Football Friday Game Recap- #8 Cardinals Get Upset

NCAA College Football Friday Game Recap- #8 Cardinals Get Upset

Any hopes of the No. 8 ranked Louisville Cardinals having a perfect season and running the tables in the American Athletic Conference were put to rest in their own stadium Friday night as unranked Central Florida (5-1, 2-0 AAC) came ready to play and stunned the Cardinals 38-35 with a 2-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left.

With Louisville up big 28-7 midway through the third quarter and the game seemingly well in hand, UCF went on a scoring spree scoring three touchdowns in a span of 7:22 to tie the game at 28-28.

The Knights then took their first lead of the game with a 34-yard field goal with 7:36 remaining in the fourth quarter 31-28.

It was short-lived however as Louisville (6-1, 2-1 AAC) recaptured the lead on Dominique Brown’s 15-yard touchdown scamper with just three minutes left to give the Cardinals a 35-31 lead.

Not to be denied, the Knights had one more drive in them and drove 75 yards to pay-dirt on 11 plays to give UCF a 38-35 lead with only 23 seconds left.

However, Heisman Trophy contender Teddy Bridgewater (29/38, 341 yards, 2 TDs)made one last desperate attempt at the end zone as time expired, but to no avail. Game over.

What can you say? It was a heck of a game,” Knights coach George O’Leary said. “Both teams played their hearts out. That was a great drive and it was a great win in a tough environment.

Obviously, it’s a big win. It’s a big win because of the conference. We had great effort and great execution…. We could have hung our heads, but we got after it.”

A balanced UCF attack on the ground and air allowed them to come back on a Cardinals team who thought they had the game won.

Knights quarterback Blake Bortles went 21-of-32 for 250 yards in the air for two touchdowns, while Storm Johnson rushed 18 times for 109 yards and a score. However, it was Jeff Godfrey who had only one catch the whole night and it was the game winner.

I said, ‘Let’s get some 2-minute calls ready,” Bortles said. “We knew we were going to have to go 2-minute… Our offensive line did a great job and our receivers did a great job of getting yards after the catch.”

Louisville entered the game allowing a nation-best 7.3 points per game and No. 2 against the run.

When you know you’re up 21 points, you think the game should be in hand,” linebacker Preston Brown said. “The way we’ve been playing so far this year, that should be a victory.”

It was only Central Florida’s second win over a ranked team in 27 attempts.

It felt good seeing that clock hit zero,” Godfrey said in a elated Knights locker room. “It was a great feeling inside, a great win for the program and UCF Nation.”

MLB NLCS Game 4 Recap- Cardinals Take 3-1 Series Lead

MLB NLCS Game 4 Recap- Cardinals Take 3-1 Series Lead

NLCS Game 4- Cardinals win 4-2

Best-of-Seven Series- St. Louis leads 3-1

The St. Louis Cardinals used two long balls from Matt Holiday and pinch-hitter Shane Robinson to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 in Game 4 to give the Cardinals a commanding 3-1 lead in the National League Championship Series.

The Cardinals were in the same position last year against the San Francisco Giants only to see the Giants come back and beat them on their way to a World Series championship.

We can’t get ahead of ourselves,” Holliday said.

Hopefully, we can throw some offense together like we were today a little bit and keep some positive thoughts going,” manager Mike Matheny said. “When we start talking about where the series is, I think it’s a distraction. What we got to do is play a game.”

The Dodgers Zach Greinke (0-1, 2.57 ERA) will take the ball on Wednesday afternoon in Game 5 and be asked to extend the series one more game for Dodger ace Clayton Kershaw. Joe Kelly (0-0, 3.18 ERA) will start for the Cardinals.

Kind of the best thought I have is, I’ve got one of the best pitchers in baseball pitching tomorrow,” Mattingly said. “If we come out here and play well tomorrow and get a win, I’ve probably got the best pitcher in baseball pitching the next day.”

We realize we’ve been through a lot in the regular season, but it pales in comparison to what we’re doing now,” said Dodger second baseman Mark Ellis. “We realize we have it in us to do this. It’s a three-game win steak. That’s all it is.”

The Dodgers had their opportunities throughout the night, but inning-ending double plays stopped any and all rallies.

Mental errors as well, as Dodger Nick Punto’s seventh inning lead off double was short lived when he was picked off second base by relieve pitcher Carlos Martinez to end any threat as well.

That’s a lonely place to be,’” Punto said. “I don’t wish that on anybody, but I’ve got to move past that.”

With their backs against the wall and an ailing Hanley Ramirez (ribs), the Dodgers will be geared to score on every opportunity in Game 5.

It felt worse than yesterday,” Ramirez said. “It makes me angry.”

We didn’t get enough runs on the board, because two is not enough,” said Dodger Adrian Gonzalez. “(But) we’ve put together a lot better than a three-game winning streak before.”

The Dodgers Ricky Nolasco (0-1) took the loss lasting only four innings.

I felt my stuff was good for the best part,” he said. “Just that one pitch was the difference in the game.”

The Cardinals Lance Lynn (2-0) got the victory, Game 5 is scheduled Wednesday at 4:00PM EST.

NFL Thursday Night Game Preview/Pick- Seahawks vs. Cardinals

NFL Thursday Night Game Preview/Pick- Seahawks vs. Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks @ (5-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-3) 10/17 8:25PM EST

Line: -6.5

Over/Under- 40.0

The Seattle Seahawks (5-1) will go into Arizona on Thursday looking to avoid their third straight road loss to the Cardinals and stay even with the New Orleans Saints (5-1) for best road record in the NFC.

Road woes is what plagued the Seahawks last year and if they wish to stay among the NFL’s elite, they must improve in that area starting with their division rival Arizona Cardinals (3-3) who are coming off a loss in San Francisco 32-20.

Seattle won unimpressively against the Tennessee Titans at home last Sunday 20-13 and must do a better job offensively against a Cardinal football team still trying to find their way.

Seattle receiver Percy Harvin will help the Seahawk offense be more effective once he returns from injured reserve and can get back in football shape, but is still a few weeks away from that happening.

He’ll be running and doing a lot of stuff this week,” Carroll said. “We don’t expect him to play this week, but we’ll find out how far along he has come.”

The Seattle defense is still getting it done as they rank second in the NFL with 290.2 yards allowed per game and third at 15.7 points a contest.

It’s nice to learn while you are winning and I think that’s where we are,” coach Pete Carroll said. “That’s what we’re hoping to continue. I don’t know if we’ll be able to reach the levels that we saw last year where we were scoring points at a huge rate (while winning the final five regular-season games). That was an enormous run that we had. But that’s good to expect that and I’d like to see that too.”

The Cardinals are 2-0 at home thus far and have beaten the Seahawks six of the last seven.

They’re a brand new team to us,” Carroll said. “There are things that look similar, but it’s not the same. All kinds of stuff has changed, so we to look at them all over again. It’s not like we’re just carrying it over, same ol’ same ol’. It’s not like that.”

Carson Palmer must look to improve throwing the ball where he has thrown nine of his 11 interceptions in the last four games, and may be without All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald who is nursing a sore hamstring.

It gets a little better and then he plays on it and it gets worse,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “So hopefully we can continue to nurse it into the small open week and get it better.”

All signs point to the Seattle Seahawks winning on Thursday.. stronger defense and more consistent offense, although the Cardinals have played better at home, I expect the Seahawks to win going away in the fourth quarter.

So for Thursday night´s  NFL Pick

PICK: Seattle Seahawks

Dodgers fan Dressed as a bear Thrown out

“Wait,” you may be saying. “I did not know the the Los Angeles Dodgers had a mascot. And why is it a bear?”

Each legitimate questions from anyone who noticed the dancing, cheering bear in a Dodgers jersey at Monday night time’s NLCS Sport three. The bear obtained a tiny little bit of TELEVISION time, however as you possibly can see in the video above, followers at the game noticed a lot more of him. Doing the splits on the opposing crew’s dugout? Strong move.

Here’s the factor: The Dodgers do not have a bear for a mascot. They don’t have a mascot, interval. And that explains why the individual in the bear costume was ushered away by security. Let or not it’s identified, of us, you possibly can’t just show up at a baseball sport and begin mascotting, BYO-bear costume be damned.

Now let’s remember the unofficial Dodgers bear mascot in all its air-catching glory. Pay attention to how impressed Dustin Hoffman is.

Somebody would possibly see these antics and suppose they’re the work of jokester. However we know what was really afoot here. Behold:

That bear showed up Monday with a objective. To activate Yasiel Puig. Is it a coincidence that the night time the dancing bear showed up Puig broke out of his NLCS slump? After all it is not.
