Whenever you consider a hard ticket to get in the NFL, you consider the Green Bay Packers. It’s simpler for “Genuine Nerd” Toby Radloff to win the starting quarterback job with the Cleveland Browns than it's for the typical person to lock down a ticket to Lambeau field, however the current sinkhole of suck that the Packers are in has reversed the situation.

As FOX 11 in Wisconsin pointed out, rather than having or not it's arduous find a Packers ticket this week, those that have already got them are discovering it tough to eliminate them.

Inexperienced Bay welcomes in the Atlanta Falcons this weekend to Lambeau Subject and any other 12 months this can be a flex-worthy recreation for Sunday Night Soccer. Effectively, each different yr except this year because the Falcons went from Super Bowl favorites to preventing for the first pick in the draft and the Packers playoff hopes are as damaged as Aaron Rodgers’ collarbone.

Issues are so bad within the frozen tundra of Inexperienced Bay that FOX 11 was able to find a fan promoting his Packers ticket with the face value of $97 for the closely discounted value of $30 — and he still can’t move it. Things are simply as bad for the Falcons who reportedly returned nearly 500 tickets the Packers had put aside for them, which Green bay has to now promote on TicketMaster.

Despite nobody wanting to go to the sport, we're nonetheless prone to be subjected to the drunken Packers fan within the front row carrying nothing but a thong — and from the sounds of it, he’s going to be painfully seen.

Vikings at Packers: Odds, prediction and preview

Oct 27, 2013; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Minnesota Vikings operating back Adrian Peterson (28) is stopped by the Inexperienced Bay Packers defense during the fourth quarter at Mall of America Subject at H.H.H. Metrodome. The Packers defeated the Vikings forty four-31. Necessary Credit score: Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings should play the spoiler position this time round of their annual rivalry sport with the Inexperienced Bay Packers. The 2 clubs squared-off twice last yr within the common seasons with each video games having vital postseason implications.

The third time they performed was towards each other in the playoffs, but there’s a chance neither team makes it back there this yr.

“This is an NFC North opponent, our rival. It’s a huge recreation for us, our most necessary recreation of the season, number one, because it’s the following game on our schedule, but also due to who the opponent is. It’s an opportunity for us to get a win in our division, so it could mean a lot to our team and our followers,” Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier instructed Packers media on Wednesday.

The Packers continue to anxiously await the return of their All-Pro quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. After he suffered a broken collarbone throughout the staff’s Week 9 Monday Night time Football game in opposition to the Chicago Bears, the crew has lost three-straight video games and went from leading the NFC North to being outdoors of the playoff picture looking in.

Sunday in opposition to the New York Giants, Scott Tolzien obtained his first NFL begin in hopes of stopping the bleeding. He was unable to take action, as he completed 24/34 passing and threw three interceptions in Green Bay’s 27-thirteen loss to the Giants on Sunday.

However at 2-eight, motivation generally is a downside on a cold day late in the season for a team like the Vikings enjoying in hostile territory. To not point out they’ve not won in Lambeau since Brett Favre was there quarterback, and nobody’s mistaking Christian Ponder for the future hall of famer.

This will most likely be a low-scoring defensive affair the place each offenses depend on their working recreation to hold them to victory. Packers rookie working back Eddie Lacy has run with the identical pushing brand of soccer as the good Adrian Peterson does, and watching these two look to grind out every yard on Sunday will probably be a battle to observe.

Matters: Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy, Inexperienced Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, NFL, Scott Tolzien

Here is this week’s Week 12 Power Rankings for teams 1-32 with records and last week’s ranking.

Place your bets here upto $1000 signup bonus

1 Denver Broncos (9-1 LW: 2)- Round 1 goes to the Broncos… rematch with KC in two weeks.

2 Seattle Seahawks (10-1 LW: 3) Other then a home game against the Saints, they should be able to run the table the rest of the way.

3 New Orleans Saints (8-2 LW: 4)- Undefeated at home so far… but the playoffs may mean winning on the road.

4 Carolina Panthers (7-3 LW: 6)- Beating quality teams now and only getting better.

5 Kansas City Chiefs (9-1 LW: 1)- Still a solid team on defense… but the offense will need to get better if they expect to make some noise in the playoffs.

6 New England Patriots (7-3 LW: 5)- Patriots are still looking for the flag… they got earlier in the year against the Saints. So…

7 Indianapolis Colts (7-3 LW: 7)- Good comeback win at Tennessee, but I still think Rams game.

8 San Francisco 49ers (6-4 LW: 8)- They were so close to being 8-2…. Two tough games in a row.

9 Cincinnati Bengals (7-4 LW: 10)- Their win on Sunday should put them in position for the AFC North crown and a first-round bye.

10 Detroit Lions (6-4 LW 9)- Can we do the fake field goal play over again?

11 Chicago Bears (6-4 LW: 12)- Big home win over the Ravens.. which Rams team will they face on Sunday?

12 Philadelphia Eagles (6-4 LW: 13)- Finally a team in the NFC East is playing like they want to win it.. Nick Foles getting it done.

13 New York Jets (5-5 LW: 13)- Jekyll and Hyde if you ask me… we just don’t know what team will show up on Sundays.

14 Arizona Cardinals (6-4 LW: 16)- Winning games despite no running game and a QB who’s thrown more INTs then TDs.

15 Miami Dolphins (5-5 LW: 21)- Gritty performance and win against San Diego with all the distractions staring at them.

16 San Diego Chargers (4-6 LW: 17)- If they could just finish games… but now they still have three games left against the Chiefs and Broncos.

17 Dallas Cowboys (5-5 LW: 15)- Big game against the resurgent Giants Sunday on the road.

18 Green Bay Packers (5-5 LW: 14)- No Aaron Rodgers…. No hope!

19 Pittsburgh Steelers (4-6 LW: 25)- Is this the same Steelers team who we all left for dead earlier? Held the Lions scoreless in the second half.

20 Cleveland Browns (4-6 LW: 18)- Big home game on Sunday against the Steelers. If they win… maybe still a chance?

21 Buffalo Bills (4-7 LW: 27)- Winnable games coming up against the Bucs, Falcons, Jags and Dolphins… Wildcard? hmmm maybe.

22 Baltimore Ravens (4-6 LW: 19)- Failing to score on first-and-goal at the Chicago 5-yard line. Story of the year for the offense.

23 St Louis Rams (4-6 LW 20)- In a division with Seattle and San Francisco… it’s tough.

24 New York Giants (4-6 LW: 26)- Four wins in a row now with Dallas coming up.

25 Oakland Raiders (4-6 LW: 24)- Is Matt McGloin the answer at quarterback?

26 Tennessee Titans (4-6 LW: 22)- How big do the losses to the Jags and Colts look now in an AFC race that’s up for grabs.

27 Washington Redskins (3-7 LW: 23)- So much for running the tables like last year.

28 Houston Texans (2-8 LW: 28)- Still playing hard… that’s all you could ask for at this point.

29 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-8 LW: 31) Two in a row… and they had some winnable games throughout the season.

30. Atlanta Falcons (2-8 LW: 29)- Unlike the Texans, this is a football that has quit on everybody. Embarrassing!

31 Minnesota Vikings (2-8 LW: 30)- Playing for a quarterback in next year’s draft.

32 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-9 LW 32)- It was fun while it lasted.

Pierre-Paul: Blood will be spilled vs. Dallas

JPP: Giants “To Put It On” Cowboys

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New York Giants’ four-game winning streak and the Dallas Cowboys’ recent struggles imply Sunday’s recreation between the teams at MetLife Stadium will carry a level of significance that when appeared inconceivable.

This isn’t lost within the Giants’ locker room, the place Sunday night time defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul fired up some very confident-sounding talk concerning the matchup.

“We’ll put it on them, man,” Pierre-Paul mentioned after the Giants’ 27-thirteen victory over the Inexperienced Bay Packers, wherein he returned an interception 24 yards for a landing. “I am fairly certain the offense is going to get going. The protection is going to get going much more. And the special groups will contribute to it.

“It may be a combat. It should be a dogfight. There’s going to be a lot of blood spilled on the market.”

The Giants (four-6) started the season with a 36-31 road loss to the Cowboys. That was Pierre-Paul’s first sport again after lacking the preseason following again surgical procedure, and afterward he mentioned he was dissatisfied not to be able to play at full strength because of how essential video games towards the Cowboys are to him. He blocked a field purpose to clinch a win at Dallas in December 2011, helping the Giants en route to their newest Super Bowl title, and he returned a Tony Romo interception for a touchdown in final season’s recreation in Texas.

After this year’s season-opening loss, the Giants misplaced five extra video games to begin zero-6. However they have won four in a row to maneuver within a game of the second-place Cowboys (5-5) and 1½ video games of the primary-place Philadelphia Eagles (6-5) in a tightly bunched NFC East race. Nobody within the Giants’ locker room is going to have a tough time getting up for this one.

“We all know the motivation goes to be there,” linebacker Jon Beason said after the Packers game. “It’s the Cowboys. The winner’s going to go on and nonetheless have an opportunity, and the loser is probably done.”

In Irving, Texas, the Cowboys responded to Pierre-Paul’s potential bulletin-board comments with a collective shrug.

“He’s presupposed to feel that method,” vast receiver Dez Bryant said. “You are an opponent. We’re an opponent for them. It is great confidence.

“We’re simply going to go out there and play our game. All we deal with is the best way we put together and prepare for games. We’re going to go on the market and give it our all.”

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett does not want his staff to get caught up in any kind of trash-talking back-and-forth, just like the outdated days with Brandon Jacobs and Patrick Crayton trading barbs.

“We just have to concentrate on what we have to do,” Garrett said. “We’ve got nice respect for the Giants, their players, their coaches, their football group. We’ve to go up there and play our best football.”

Wonder Punter NFL Week 11 Power Rankings

NFL-Power-Rankings

NFL Power rankings for week 11 2013

With a 10 full weeks of NFL games in the books, let’s take a look at our new NFL Power Rankings for Week 11 which will begin on Thursday. The Indianapolis Colts who were a constant top 5 teams in our rankings took a hit with their bad loss at the hands of the Rams, as did some other teams after Sunday and Monday night’s game. The Carolina Panthers made the biggest jump with their impressive defensive performances win at San Francisco. And Tampa Bay and Jacksonville are in the win column… finally.

1 Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)- Even with the bye week, I will keep them in No. 1 spot, however they will be challenged in the next two of three weeks with the Denver Broncos on the bill.

2 Denver Broncos (8-1)- Denver’s next three games…. KC, at New England, at KC. Things are about to get interesting in the AFC.

3 Seattle Seahawks (9-1)- Seattle put together a full road game against the Falcons on Sunday and dominated them. Much more impressive win.

4 New Orleans Saints (7-2)- World beaters at home… except in the NFL you only get to play half at home during the regular season.

5 New England Patriots (7-2)- Coming off their bye week, they will have a great road test at Carolina on Monday night.

6 Carolina Panthers (6-3)- One quality victory down with a road win at San Fran., can they duplicate another at home against the Patriots on Monday night?

7 Indianapolis Colts (6-3)- I don’t think anyone is sure what happened to them on Sunday’s ugly home loss to the Rams…. They couldn’t have been looking ahead to the Titans, could they have?

8 San Francisco (6-3)- A bounce here, a bounce there, who knows… but teams 6 and 7 beat them at Candlestick.

9 Detroit Lions (6-3)- Big road win at Soldier Field to take over sole possession over first place in the NFC North.

10 Cincinnati Bengals (6-4)- Back-to-back road losses at Miami then Baltimore.. lose to Cleveland on Sunday and they may have a problem.

11 New York Jets (5-4)- Coming off their bye week with winnable game at Buffalo on Sunday.

12 Chicago Bears (5-4)- Can Josh McCown hold it together ‘til Cutler makes it back… whenever that is.

13 Philadelphia Eagles (5-5)- Nick Foles has had two great back-to-back games. My favorites now to win a weak NFC East.

14 Green Bay Packers (5-4)- Despite their quarterback injuries, they have a winnable game at the Giants on Sunday.

15 Dallas Cowboys (5-5)- In what was probably their ‘rock bottom’ game on Sunday, they are still in first place in the NFC.. but barely.

16 Arizona Cardinals (5-4)- Too bad they have play in the same division as the Seahawks and 49ers.

17 San Diego Chargers (4-5)- Too bad they have to play in same division as the Chiefs and Broncos.

18 Cleveland Browns (4-5)- Win at Cincinnati on Sunday and they may have a chance to win what is now a weak AFC North.

19 Baltimore Ravens (4-5)- It’s a good thing the defense showed up on Sunday against the Bengals because the offense was nowhere to be found.

20 St. Louis Rams (4-6)- The Tavon Austin show and a blowout win at Indy.

21 Miami Dolphins (4-5)- In week one following the bullying-blowup, they lose to the winless Bucs.

22 Tennessee Titans (4-5)- First they lose Jake Locker for the year, then they lose to the worst team in the league.

23 Washington Redskins (3-6)- In a weak NFC East, they show no signs of wanting it.

24 Oakland Raiders (3-6)- Have now lost 12 straight on East Coast trips and now word Terrelle Pryor may be out for awhile.

25 Pittsburgh Steelers (3-6)- What’s all this talk about trading away ‘Big Ben?’ Will that make them better… and will anybody take a banged-up quarterback?

26 New York Giants (3-6)- Must I keep talking about the NFC East anymore… they’re still in it but have some tough games coming up.

27 Buffalo Bills (3-7)- It’s all about building a foundation for 2014.

28 Houston Texans (2-7)- Still better then their record indicates.

29. Atlanta Falcons (2-7)- I used to think they were better then their record indicated.

30 Minnesota Vikings (2-7)- With Christian Ponder’s status up in the air for Sunday’s game, will we see another quarterback change for the Vikings?

31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-8)- Guess they didn’t want to be ranked last in the league.

32 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8)- Well for about 32 hours they were ranked 31st….

Injured on Oct. 20 against the Washington Redskins, Cutler stated he had hoped to be back for Monday night’s game towards the Green Bay Packers. Although he’s utilized unconventional methods to speed up the restoration, corresponding to platelet wealthy plasma treatments, an ARP machine and a strict diet, the quarterback mentioned he does not have a say on how soon he returns.

Team docs advised Cutler, coach Marc Trestman and common manager Phil Emery that the timetable for restoration is a minimal of 4 weeks.

“I was aiming for the Green Bay recreation, and that didn’t occur. So I don’t suppose we can say I will be on the market for the Detroit game,” Cutler stated Tuesday on ESPN a thousand’s “The Jay Cutler Show.”

“We’re making an attempt everything we will to get on the market. It feels good, but I have never practiced. I have not been in a live scenario and executed all the cuts and the drops and noticed how it felt but. So can’t inform you. I want I may. I wish I may say, ‘Yeah, we’ll be on the market.’

“However I think the way in which that [backup] Josh [McCown] is playing, we be ok with that and we do not want to get into the state of affairs where I am on the market and I get back every week too soon and I’m set again one other 4 to 6 weeks. So I’m just gonna be good with it.”

Regardless of the four-week minimum prognosis for Cutler’s recovery, the quarterback final week said his aim was to return sooner.

Filling in for Cutler on his radio weekly radio show last week, receiver Brandon Marshall mentioned that in a “worst-case state of affairs,” the quarterback would return for Sunday’s sport.

When the Bears (5-three) host the Lions (5-3) on Sunday, 21 days may have handed since Cutler sustained the harm.

Cutler stated the therapeutic process has moved alongside shortly because “I’ve simply done plenty of rehab,” and that the original 4-week minimum prognosis concerned the recovery timeframe for somebody that “sort of let it heal itself and [took] it straightforward,” versus the aggressive strategy he is taken.

“We have carried out some stuff that isn’t simply straight ice and [muscle] stim[ulation]. There’s an ARP machine there. We did PRP. We’ve achieved loads of various things,” Cutler said. “The trainers, the Bears have executed an ideal job, Bobby [Slater, the assistant head athletic coach and director of rehabilitation] and those guys, of serving to me get again.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been out since tearing a groin muscle at Washington in Week 7.

“We have kind of attacked this factor head on, thrown a variety of completely different methods at it, and simply tried to keep the blood flowing there.”

An ARP machine (Accelerated Restoration Efficiency) is a unit that helps heal tender-tissue accidents quickly by sending a direct present to an injured space, along with a background current that the machine’s creators consider allows for deeper penetration. PRP therapies contain the injection of a patient’s own platelets into the injured space. The platelets are reported to have development components that help in therapeutic.”

Bears operating back Matt Forte has additionally utilized an ARP machine and PRP treatments prior to now to hurry up the healing process.

Cutler has also restricted his eating regimen in his bid to return to the sphere.

“Simply keeping your sugar levels, try to maintain them as stage as attainable,” Cutler said. “It is onerous in your physique trying to heal an damage and likewise break down quite a few quantities of carbs that we eat and all kinds of different stuff.”

But Cutler could not put a percentage on the place he is at in rehabilitation. Requested if he was seventy five p.c healthy, Cutler mentioned, “I don’t know.”

“We haven’t finished football-particular stuff to essentially inform me where I’m at. I have not pushed that button and said, ‘Hey, let’s go do a bunch of drops. Let’s roll out. Let’s throw and see the place we’re at,'” Cutler said. “I can do some lunges and stuff for you. But that’s not gonna inform me [I] can get out of the way of a defensive lineman.

“We’ve a walkthrough tomorrow. We’re working towards Thursday. Hopefully we’ll see if we are able to do some stuff out there. If not, we’re in additional than capable palms [with McCown]. I think Chicago would agree.”

But even if Cutler wished to play Sunday, the choice won’t be in his arms.

“I’m not gonna just stroll within the building and be like, ‘Hey, I’m able to go,'” Cutler mentioned. “Doctors have got to OKAY it. I’ve got to prove to them that I can protect myself on the market, [that I] can do the whole lot that we need to do at the quarterback position. We’ve nonetheless obtained some hurdles to go through.”

Cutler acknowledged that the waiting is difficult, but he believes in McCown’s ability to get the job performed during his absence.

In somewhat more than six quarters during the last two games, McCown has completed 36 of sixty one passes for 476 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions whereas generating passer rankings of 119.6 and 90.7 over the previous two video games.

“I want to be on the market. I wanted to be on the market Monday night time. It is just arduous seeing how much time and effort the rest of the fellows within the offense and the rest of the fellows on the group put in and not having the ability to assist and do my part. That’s the toughest part,” Cutler stated. “But that is why we have now Josh. That is why Josh takes his job so significantly: for conditions like that. I’ve simply got to belief in the truth that he’s gonna go out there, he’s gonna do everything he can do to help us win

NFL Power Rankings – Week 10

Power Rankings for the NFL week 10 – WonderPunter

With 9 weeks of the NFL season in the books, let’s take a look at Week 10’s Power Rankings where a few teams made some jumps and others went backwards after this past weekend’s games.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)- As much as I still think they are not deserving of the top ranking.. they are still the only undefeated team. Bye week then a showdown with the Denver Broncos.

2. Denver Broncos (7-1)- With the bye week out of the way, can they continue to play at a high-level without head coach John Fox on the mend for possibly two months for a heart attack? Chargers and Chiefs coming up.

3. Indianapolis Colts (6-2)- They have beaten some quality teams to this point, but remember no more Reggie Wayne to help the offense.

4. Seattle Seahawks (8-1)- Expected better from a team that has struggled against the Rams and Bucs for victories.

5. San Francisco 49ers (6-2)- Big home game against the surging Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

6. New Orleans Saints (6-2)- Will look to bounce back against the Cowboys after Sundays loss to the Jets.

7. New England Patriots (7-2)- They head into the bye week after an impressive blowout win over the Steelers 55-31.

8. Cincinnati Bengals (6-3)- Can they avoid back-to-back road losses with the Ravens coming up?

9. Chicago Bears (5-3)- Big road win on Monday night in Lambeau gave them a big move up the rankings. Next up Detroit and possibly Jay Cutler returning to action.

10. Detroit Lions (5-3)- Coming off their bye week with a road game at Soldier Field.

11. Carolina Panthers (5-3)- All their wins have been against bad teams, now they visit the Niners on Sunday to prove their worth.

12. Green Bay Packers (5-3)- Dropped from last week and now with Aaron Rodgers out of action, they may continue to fall.

13. Dallas Cowboys (5-4)- Still middle of the road for me but they are in first place in a weak NFC East. Will be tested against the Saints on Sunday night.

14. New York Jets (5-4)- Good home win against a good Saints team leading into the bye week.

15. San Diego Chargers (4-4)- Another fourth quarter loss last week, now next up is the Denver Broncos.

16. Tennessee Titans (4-4)- I still like this football team and have the hapless Jags coming into town.

17. Miami Dolphins (4-4)- Can they overcome all the bad press this week and beat a winless Bucs team on Monday night?

18. Cleveland Browns (4-5)- Is Jason Campbell the answer to Hoyle?

19. Arizona Cardinals (4-4)- Next up is the Texans as they look to go above .500, unfortunately they have the 49ers and Seahawks to contend with in their division.

20. Philadelphia Eagles (4-5)- Back-up quarterback Nick Foles completely embarrassed the Raiders with seven touchdown passes, yet Vick may still get his job back when healthy.

21. Baltimore Ravens (4-4)- Offense must improve if they want to contend.

22. Washington Redskins (3-5)- With Minnesota coming up Thursday night, now is the chance to string some wins together in the winnable NFC East.

23. Buffalo Bills (3-6)- Tough road loss to the unbeaten Chiefs, but still like the direction they are going.

24. Oakland Raiders (3-5)- Horrible defensive performance against the Eagles. Next up is the lowly Giants, but it’s always tough for west coast teams to head east and win.

25. Houston Texans (2-6)- Defense is still there and had the Colts beat, but losing their coach proved too tough to overcome.

26. Atlanta Falcons (2-6)- Season is over and people are wondering why future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez wasn’t traded to a team with a chance to win it all?

27. St. Louis Rams (3-6)- Playing with a back up QB and heading into Indianapolis on Sunday.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-6)- Was Sundays blowout loss to the Patriots 55-31 their rock bottom? The worst we’ve seen in years!

29. New York Giants (2-6)- They have a very beatable Oakland team coming into town on Sunday.

30. Minnesota Vikings (1-7)- I guess the Josh Freeman quarterback of our future experiment is over after one game.

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-8)- Gave Seattle all they could handle and showed some pride before falling in OT.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-8)- What hasn’t been said already? Next up at Tennessee.

NFL Monday Night Preview/Pick- Bears vs. Packers

Bears-Packers-NFC-Game

NFL Monday Night Preview/Pick- Bears vs. Packers

Chicago Bears (4-3) @ Green Bay Packers (5-2) 11/04- 8:30PM EST

Line: GB -10.5

Over/Under: 50.5

The Chicago Bears will have their work cut out for them on Monday night as they travel into Lambeau Field to try to end a six-game losing streak to a team that has also has won four-straight at home… the Green Bay Packers.

The hurdle facing the Bears is that they will be without the services of quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Lance Briggs.

Green Bay (5-2) has won six in a row against Chicago (4-3) and five straight meetings at Lambeau and will look to open the gap in the NFC North.

Aaron Rodgers is 9-2 against the Bears and seems to be hitting his stride after a slow start to start the season.

Chicago comes off a bye week having lost three of its last four and will be without Cutler (groin) and Briggs (shoulder). Cutler is expected back soon where Briggs is expected to still miss more then a month.

We really have to play together more then ever now,” coach Marc Trestman said. “And I think that’s something that we’re capable of doing.”

Despite the Bears being without their two top players, Green Bay is not taking them for granted.

We need to prepare and stay focused on our opponent and the changes they’ve made,” Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said. “At the end of the week, we want to make sure we’re focused on winning and that our quality of play is as high as possible.”

Veteran quarterback Josh McCown will be making his first start for the Bears since the 2011 season where he went 1-1.

Josh is going to do the job,” Cutler said. “We’ve got a good game plan coming in. Josh fared well against (Washington). He’ll play well again this week.”

McCown will rely on his best weapons for a balanced attack such as running back Matt Forte and receiver Brandon Marshall to help put some points on the board and take some of the pressure off a banged-up defense.

Green Bay has had their share of injuries on the offensive side of the ball missing receivers Randall Cobb, James Jones and tight-end Jermichael Finley but yet has continued to dominate offensively with Jordy Nelson and rookie running back Eddie Lacy.

We’ve got a great team, very well-coached.,” Rodgers said. “Guys are ready to play.”

Lacy has been a bright-spot for the Packers running game this season averaging 98.8 yards in his last four.

They’re statistics,” McCarthy said. “There’s one statistic that counts (winning the Super Bowl) and we’re working our way toward it, and we’re a long way from it.

Running the ball’s part of it.”

I expect another well played game from the Packers on Monday night taking advantage of the depleted Chicago Bears with their injuries to the defensive side of the ball and no Jay Cutler.

Then Meriweather turned to Marshall and Bears tight end Martellus Bennett, who each publicly criticized the exhausting-hitting safety last week. Marshall received one in all Meriweather’s hits in the game on Oct. 20.

“I respect the league attempting to raised our sport,” Marshall mentioned after that recreation. “Guys like that, maybe he must get suspended or taken out of the sport utterly.”

Bennett stated later in the week that he needed to punch Meriweather. But Meriweather’s ire was directed extra at Marshall.

NFL Sunday Night Game Recap- Green Bay Rolls

rodgers_packers

Aaron Rodgers led his Green Bay Packers in to their final meeting at the Metrodome without three of his best receivers and backed by a solid running game guided the Packers to a 44-31 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night.

I think this is really shaping up to be one of Aaron’s best years,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “Aaron’s had a lot of challenges Monday through Saturday that don’t show up on the stat sheet, just trying to get on the same page with younger players and trusting the game plan.”

Rodgers, without Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley relied on his younger players to get the job done, namely Jordy Nelson who ended the night with 7 catches for 123 yards and two first half touchdowns.

We expect greatness out of our guys,” Rodgers said.

Besides Rodgers who went 24/29 for 285 yards and two touchdown tosses, the Packers (5-2) used a steady diet of rookie running back Eddie Lacy (29 carries, 94 yards) and James Starks to create a balanced attack against a depleted Vikings defense that allowed 182 total yards rushing.

Everybody wants a 1,500–yard rusher. I’ve always wanted an 1,100-yard rusher, because I plan on being in the playoffs, so I want him running the same way in January and February as he is in September and October,” McCarthy said.

I wasn’t going to let this team beat us,” Rodgers said. “A lot was on my shoulders.”

Minnesota (1-6) went back to quarterback Christian Ponder as the third different starter in a many weeks and although he did not turn the ball over, he had a sub-par performance going 14/21 for 145 yards, and one rushing touchdowns.

All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson despite one rushing TD was for the most part ineffective with 60-yards on 13 rushes.

Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier wonders if he will stay with Ponder as the starter the rest of the way.

These are the guys we have,” Frazier said. “So we’ve got to figure out schematically what we can do with the guys that we have to be better.”

The play of the night occurred on the first play when Minnesota’s Cordarrelle Patterson returned the opening kickoff 109-yards for a touchdown.

Green Bay Packers seems to hitting their stride and ready to make a run in the NFC North.

We’ve got a great team, very well-coached,” Rodgers said. “Guys are ready to play. It was loud in here. It was a tough environment, but guys stepped up.”

NFL Sunday Night Preview/Pick- Packers vs. Vikings

sel 2458 Green Bay Vikings

Green Bay Packers (4-2) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-5) 10/27- 5:30PM EST

Line: GB -9.0

Over/Under: 47.0

The juggling act of Minnesota quarterbacks will continue on Sunday night as Christian Ponder will call the signals in place of Josh Freeman who was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms suffered last week against the Giants in his Vikings’ debut last Monday night.

Minnesota (1-5) coach Leslie Frazier made the decision to start Ponder with the Vikings having a short week.

At the quarterback position, you want to know who is going to be lining up week-in and week-out,” Frazier said. “But that’s the circumstance where we are and Christian will do a good job for us on Sunday.”

Former Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings will be facing the team he spent seven-years with for the first time on Sunday before signing a five-year deal with Minnesota in March. Despite the rocky season he has endured with the Vikings and the quarterback situation, he is rallying behind Ponder.

It doesn’t matter who it is, we have to help him be successful and he has to help us be successful so it’s Christian this week, that’s who we’re rolling with, that’s who we’re rooting for,” Jennings said.

Jennings was a mainstay with the Packers combining with quarterback Aaron Rodgers for 425 receptions and 53 touchdowns in his seven seasons.

I still have love for those fans and for that organization, absolutely, and the guys within that locker room, but I’m developing new ties and new relationships over here,” Jennings said.

Minnesota will be looking to get last season’s MVP award winner Adrian Peterson back on track after being held to a season-low 28 yards on 13 carries against the Giants.

But, to do so, he will be facing a Green Bay defense ranked first in the NFC against the run allowing only 79.0 yards a contest.

They do a good job on defense of bottling things up and trying to defend the run,” Frazier said.

Despite the Packers (4-2) injuries, they are riding a three-game win streak going into their final Metrodome matchup with their NFC North rivals.

The latest injury suffered was to tight end Jermichael Finley, who sustained a significant neck injury.

They are already without Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Brad Jones as well as receivers Randall Cobb and James Jones.

James Jones is expected to be back in action come Sunday night and Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy is making no excuses for the abundant of injuries to his football team.

We’re going to have 46 guys lined up against the Minnesota Vikings and we’re going to the Metrodome to win,” McCarthy said.

Green Bay will also have healthy receivers Jarrett Boykin and Jordy Nelson for Rodgers to target.

Sundays game will the first-meeting between these two teams since last year and the final meeting at the Metrodome where the Packers are 14-16 all time.

Despite all the injuries for the Packers… they will add one more win at the Metrodome come Sunday night. Too solid of a football team for the Vikings to overcome.

Pick: Green Bay Packers

Vikings’ Freeman pins inaccuracy on nerves

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – Josh Freeman still is not positive exactly which third-quarter hit caused his first NFL concussion on Monday evening, and he did not say whether he will return to the Minnesota Vikings’ starting quarterback position subsequent week. However when his subsequent opportunity does come, Freeman believes he’ll be higher than he was during an erratic efficiency in his Vikings debut.

Freeman was cleared to observe on Friday, and coach Leslie Frazier stated the Vikings plan to return him to full practice subsequent week. He can be inactive on Sunday, with Christian Ponder starting at quarterback and Matt Cassel backing up Ponder in opposition to the Green Bay Packers, however the Vikings’ plan for his or her quarterbacks after that remains unknown.

It appears likely Freeman will get another chance to play after signing a one-12 months, $2 million take care of the Vikings on Oct. 7, although Ponder might complicate issues if he plays nicely on Sunday.

Towards the New York Giants on Monday, Freeman went 20-of-fifty three for a hundred ninety yards and an interception, turning into the second quarterback since 1960 to aim 50 or more passes and not throw for at the least 200 yards in a recreation. Also, he overthrew receivers on sixteen of his 33 incompletions, in line with ESPN Stats & Info. Freeman mentioned he felt prepared sufficient for the sport, however he thought some of his inaccuracy was attributable to nerves.

“Looking again, possibly I used to be a bit too fired up at first,” he stated. “There’s definitely a number of correctable things, issues that going into the game I might’ve banked on me with the ability to full or get achieved on the sphere, but at the similar time we weren’t able to take action, so I’m shifting forward and simply received to discover a option to be higher ready.”

Frazier mentioned this week he saw some mechanical points in a few of Freeman’s throws, however Freeman thought a few of the issues would go away as he gets more comfortable within the Vikings’ offense.

“I think with any quarterback, there’s a lot of occasions the place learn one, learn two, step out of the pocket, moving, there’s just that comfort stage when you already know where you’re going with the ball and you’re comfy stepping up within the pocket and getting your ft set,” Freeman stated. “Then accuracy goes manner up. There were obviously some photographs, wanting again, I could hit in my sleep, however in the game they were possibly just a little excessive. That made it laborious on my guys.”

The Vikings, Freeman stated, have advised him to “return at my very own tempo,” and have not mentioned his role for next Sunday’s sport in Dallas.

“The whole organization’s focus is on Sunday night,” Freeman stated. “It is going up towards the Packers and finding a approach to get a win. My position for the game, I’ve obtained to any manner I can assist Christian on the market. He had a superb week of practice. He is dropping dimes left and proper. I know everyone is worked up about moving forward.”

Freeman still Vikes’ QB despite dud of debut

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – After missing his receivers all through his first recreation as the Minnesota Vikings’ beginning quarterback Monday evening, Josh Freeman will get another turn because the starter this week.

Coach Leslie Frazier mentioned Freeman will start Sunday evening at house in opposition to the Green Bay Packers, making him the third Vikings quarterback to begin at the least two games this season.

Freeman signed a one-year cope with the team Oct. 7, entering into the beginning quarterback role two weeks later, and his lack of expertise together with his receivers showed in a 23-7 highway loss to the beforehand winless New York Giants.

Freeman related on simply 20 of his fifty three passes, becoming the second quarterback in league history to throw for fewer than 200 yards on more than 50 attempts. He overthrew receivers on 16 of his 33 incompletions, in response to ESPN Stats & Data; only Tony Romo (towards the Giants last 12 months) has overthrown extra receivers in the past eight seasons.

Josh FreemanRegardless of his struggles throughout a 23-7 loss Monday night, Josh Freeman will begin for the Vikings on Sunday night time towards the Packers in Minneapolis.

Frazier mentioned Freeman’s issues had more to do with mechanics than preparation, pointing to quite a lot of throws where the quarterback didn’t sq. his shoulders. In Frazier’s eyes, these mistakes are simple to fix.

“The ball kind of sailed on him just a few different instances, however I don’t think it was an absence of preparation,” Frazier said.

Frazier stated he was not obligated by the entrance office or the group’s possession to start Freeman however didn’t decide to the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter for the rest of the season.

“I don’t know if I’ve thought that far ahead,” he mentioned.
